"... the nightly ritual of the virus briefings. For weeks they have dominated the US headlines ..."

Not in my world. Not in the world of anybody who has unplugged from the corrosive influence of the MSM.

But in artie's world, in eider's world, in jgarden's world - the world of immersion in the pap they are spoonfed daily by the MSM - in that world, it is of course true. Eider, artie, jgarden - they have chosen to live in a world where they are told, like drones, everyday, what to think, as a collective. Orwell called it "groupthink" and artie, eider and jgarden personify it here at TOL. Here's a clip of the three of them and some friends engaged in mindless hate:

Forcing all 50 states plus DC and Puerto Rico to compete against each other for limited medical supplies is the worst of all possible worlds - ironically the more affluent urban Democratic states (New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Illinois, California, Washington) which have borne the brunt of the pandemic are in a better position to outbid the poorer, rural Republican counterparts from the South and Mid-west which may explain as to why the FBI has been seized shipments of ventilators and PPEs at airports!

Despite being recognized as the world's premier superpower, America's largely privatized healthcare system means that there is no financial incentive to maintain excess capacity beyond the normal demand that is essential during a national pandemic

Given his current track record, how can this President, or anybody else, claim that the cleaning and reusing of PPEs is an effective against COVID-19 - rationing and recycling them is what one might expect from a 3rd world country, not a world superpower!

"The national shortage of N95 respirator masks can be traced back to 2009 after the H1N1 swine flu pandemic, when the Obama administration was advised to replenish a national stockpile but did not, according to reports from Bloomberg News and the Los Angeles Times."

"We rate this claim TRUE because it is supported by our research. There is no indication that the Obama administration took significant steps to replenish the supply of N95 masks in the Strategic National Stockpile after it was depleted from repeated crises. Calls for action came from experts at the time concerned for the country’s ability to respond to future serious pandemics. Such recommendations were, for whatever reason, not heeded."

He's been slipping in the polls because of these coronavirus briefings. Trump was hosting these briefings because with the pandemic he can't hold campaign rallies. Trump knows nothing about medicine, whether mainstream or alternative, so he has no reason to host these briefings except that he wants to hog the spotlight for himself and play to his base by calling reporters "fake news" every day. But now his own stupidity is starting to backfire on him.

In essence it's damage limitation. He wasn't going to look good by refusing to answer questions from reporters but he'd have probably dug himself in even deeper if he had. He was warned about corona becoming a pandemic back in January and dismissed it. History has already recorded how inept his "control" of the situation has been from day one and this latest debacle was a wingnut step too far even for him to deny.

TV has been proven to be a mind control tool. Yes, there are other mind control tools, but the most prevalent one in the world is TV. It shuts down the conscious mind of regular TV watchers in 30 seconds of watching it which allows messaging to be directly implanted within the subconscious mind. Putting messaging directly into the subconscious affects a person in ways they cannot recognize. Those messages planted there can change a person's morality, political beliefs, their views of the world, etc.... In other words they can entirely control the person's life without the person having a clue as to what is happening to them. They believe their beliefs are all their own when they are not. They are beliefs implanted by outside forces.

Your assertion about Trump is pretty funny. The media, the mind controllers who determine what you will see, always criticize everything Trump says and does. They twist it until it has no relationship whatsoever to what Trump actually said. And they surround his appearances with with vast amounts of messaging telling people to not believe anything Trump says. And you're claiming Trump is practicing mind control? The amount of messaging he gets out is not a patch on what the media puts out. They are the ones with by far the most mind control messaging.

I avoid the TV and do my own research thus I see the lies they put out. Those who regularly watch TV programming are very susceptible to their implanted beliefs.

That you buy into the messaging of the media so fully says just how much they have planted in your subconscious. As I don't watch TV or movies, and read my news I don't get near the amount of subconscious messaging that those of you who watch TV on a regular basis get. That means I don't get messaging from Trump either. Thus my beliefs are my own built of through decades of reading and study. While you tv watchers are being daily fed messages from people who do not wish you well and distort reality to a large degree.

Thanks, but no thanks, to the world of mind control. I prefer reality by far.

That's just paranoia gone overboard. Don't watch "The Manchurian Candidate" whatever you do...

There's no need for media spin or mind control where it comes to seeing these briefings either. The bat crazy is there for all to see and hear.

No no........ I think you Trumpophiles are desperate for him to look competent, and for you to refer to humanity is most strange, you write off half of humanity as retarded.
You refer to the UK sometimes. Let me tell you that we in the UK are committed to surviving this pandemic and doing what we can to help protect against it.
The President is competent its the trump derangement syndrome the MSM dishes out to you
you take their opinions as facts.

I took a supply chain management course once ,the two things that really stuck were
1. Just in time delivery which to this day I don't use , no room for error
2. cheat on everything , example is keep the same size container but less product for the same price
16oz container with 15oz of product

Media outlets all over the world have been all over this. I don't watch MSM, CNN, ABC or whatever. I prefer to watch these briefings right from the horses mouth. If he's that competent then why did he fail to listen to advice when this outbreak started and continually tried to claim that it was all under control when it so obviously wasn't? He can't claim any such thing now with the death toll in America over 50,000. His microphone would do a better job and even his aides seem to have convinced him that his press briefings aren't such a good idea after his latest disaster and his equally dumb idea to claim it was sarcasm.

I was working in industry in the early naughts when we transitioned to "just in time" - it left no buffer for the inevitable supply chain disruption in a complex manufacturing process. And this at a time when we were also transitioning from a single long established raw materials source to a myriad of smaller, disparate sources. From a QA/QC perspective (where I was working), it was a nightmare. We actually had to buy back product from some of our larger customers to supply some of our smaller customers while we were frantically scrambling to replace inhouse work that had to be scrapped.

He can't claim any such thing now with the death toll in America over 50,000.

The infection rate and the death rate for the country EXCLUDING THE METRO NYC AREA is better than the UK or Germany

And the story of the Metro NYC area is a story of the libs in charge deliberately disregarding the warnings coming from Trump in February

29355 deaths in the country are in the Metro NYC area - NYC, New Jersey, Connecticut and Long Island.

That's 55% of the total deaths in the USA as a whole, concentrated in one liberal stronghold that defiantly thumbed their noses at Trump in February.

This is all on DeBlasio and Cuomo.

This will, of course, fall silently on ears deafened by TDS, by the constant clamor of "ORANGEMANBAD!"

The President enacted a travel ban from china before the WHO recommended it and was called a racist
while De Blasio and Pelosi were encouraging people to go to china town (proof starts 3:17 mark)

I wonder how much spring break had to do with the spread of the virus in the states

how much money do you think the company saved by enacting "just in time" ?

you would think California and Florida would have a stockpile of PPE considering California earthquakes and Florida hurricanes .

Seriously, a Crowder podcast again? Is that where you get your "news" from? How exactly did he have the situation under "control" and why has he changed his tune during the course of the pandemic?

what is your problem with Steve Crowder ,is it that he provides facts that go against what you believe ?

you suggest without evidence that the things that are The Presidents responsibilities have been out of control and he has changed his tune , proof ?

It looks like the world might be spared two hour Trump briefings in the near future as it seems that his advisers may have convinced him that he'll only do more damage to himself than good. After the recent debacle, maybe even Trump has the sense to realize he's made an utter clown of himself this time.

I hope he continues to give press briefings. So does the rest of the UK, I think.

You have gotta be kidding. It's all over the net how he's changed tune once the numbers went up. It's been posted here often enough as well.
