Forcing all 50 states plus DC and Puerto Rico to compete against each other for limited medical supplies is the worst of all possible worlds - ironically the more affluent urban Democratic states (New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Illinois, California, Washington) which have borne the brunt of the pandemic are in a better position to outbid the poorer, rural Republican counterparts from the South and Mid-west which may explain as to why the FBI has been seized shipments of ventilators and PPEs at airports!
Despite being recognized as the world's premier superpower, America's largely privatized healthcare system means that there is no financial incentive to maintain excess capacity beyond the normal demand that is essential during a national pandemic
Given his current track record, how can this President, or anybody else, claim that the cleaning and reusing of PPEs is an effective against COVID-19 - rationing and recycling them is what one might expect from a 3rd world country, not a world superpower!
