I was an unfortunate owner of a iPhone 3G when they pushed out the iOS 4 upgrade.

I am no longer an Apple customer.. and never will be again.

As was I. What was the problem? :idunno:

Oh well. Your loss.

About a 10 second delay with touching any icon. When I had an incoming call, I would have to hit the answer button for 4-5 seconds before it would register.

Basically the upgrade turned my phone into a brick.

This summarizes my experience..

I've had every single iPhone and installed every single update. Never had a problem like that.

If you ever have a problem with an iPhone take it back to the apple store and they will either fix it or replace it with no questions asked.

I was under contract with AT&T and they wanted a $100 fee to send it back to apple for service..

It was cheaper to just get a samsung galaxy S phone (captivate) and extend my contract.

I recently purchased an IPhone4 and am totally satisfied, while not coming close to utilizing all its apps and features . . . so I am wondering what advantages come with the new OS5? Do I really need more?

(I am a little wary of installing upgrades, too, if they do not seem vital or necessary.)

I am a die hard Apple fan and all the computing products I have ever owned were Apple. I suffered through until OS X. I really wanted an Iphone but, I don't use the phone enough to justify the plan's cost on any of the carriers (usually about $70 to $80/mo). I use the T-mobile pay as you go method and change the plan as needed and ran into a deal on a brand new HTC 4g phone (Mytouch 4g for T-mobile) that I just plugged my SIM card in, and I was off to the races. I use the phone rarely still but for $30/mo I get 1500 min talk/text + a limited amount of download or when I am traveling I bump that to the $50/mo unlimited talk, text, and web so, though I really wanted the Iphone, I will wait until I can find one that is plug and play for T-mobile with no contract just as I have now. The Android OS phone is also a really nice phone, very powerful and until Iphones are available for T-mobile it will do very nicely.

If Apple puts out a upgrade for their equipment it is beneficial to you that you get it, many times it is fixing slight glitches in the OS or making the OS more streamline using less battery to do the same function. I, like Knight get every upgrade to my Apple products and have had no problems with any Apple product I own.

Only a slave to google would make a post like that.

Oh please......Slave? Nah, I enjoyed the flexibility and freedom to mod the product to my needs ANY WAY I PLEASE. (With a bit of 'tinkering', of course.) Something the tight-fisted Apple does not allow you to do.

Try rooting a Droid product and an Apple product and then get back to me. LOL. ALL HAIL (THE OPEN / TOTALLY MODIFIABLE) ANDROID PLATFORM!!!!

Oh hai, I hear Apple announced today that they've slightly changed the way the lens cover closes on the iPhone. I hope all you Apple fanboys have been saving up frantically, because the revolution has just arrived.
