Disgusting Media Sat On Sexual Assault For A Partisan Victory

Sixteen women as of now have come forward to say they were sexually assaulted by Donald Trump. Sixteen. It is an avalanche of absolutely bad news for the Trump campaign, and it is far too close to the end of the cycle to recover from it. The Trump campaign is finished. However, each and every one of these cases is years old. The tape that showed Donald Trump talking to Billy Bush, the very tape that started this avalanche, is itself more than a decade old. Some of the stories of Donald Trump are older than that. But, we are only now hearing about it. Wikileaks seems to have provided an answer as to why, as well: The collusion between the Media and the Clinton campaign.

I use the term “collusion” on purpose here. While not exactly the proper use, it’s about the closest I can come to describing what’s going on here. The Media is not supposed to be friendly with political campaigns. Their relationship can be – and should be – cordial, but it should never be in bed with one side and actively trying to destroy the other. And, of course, we all know which side is which in this scenario. The Wikileaks releases verify for us what we really already know. The Clinton campaign has relied heavily on not only favorable, but dictated of certain political events in order to orchestrate their victory.

he Media withheld stories about sexual assault until it was convenient for a presidential candidate.

Think about that.

It’s not illegal by any means. In fact, the Clinton campaign should be applauded for being able to win the media despite Hillary’s own attempts to shut them out. It says more about the loyalty she commands than it does about the Media’s own masochistic relationship with the Democratic Party. [/B]Obama’s administration can spy on them, investigate them, and withhold information from them. Hillary Clinton can refuse to let them see her, much less speak to her. And yet, they’ll take opposition research, question nothing, and run it as a news story with no apparent qualms.

Further, it is a regular thing for politicians to befriend and get cozy with certain journalists, who will then treat them better in order to not lose a valuable source. The Wikileaks documents show that this was occurring regularly, and that the journalists who participated in off-the-record dinners, etc. are the ones who are friendliest toward Hillary and more hostile to Donald Trump.

Of course, there is the usual disclaimer when it comes to Wikileaks: Do not take everything at face value. Documents can be faked, duplicated, etc., and the site itself can install malware onto your computer. However, many journalists who appear in these documents have yet to either refute the documents or even express any remorse for their actions. They see nothing wrong with this.

A few weeks ago, the Washington Post put out an op-ed in which they make the case that we should stop using the phrase “The Media” as if it were an entity that existed as conservatives claim it does. In light of the Wikileaks releases, I wonder just how anyone is supposed to take such an op-ed seriously. Coverage from the Washington Post is a bit fairer than, say, the New York Times, but it still has a noticeable lean in its coverage.

It is one thing, however, to have a lean in coverage one way or the other. It is another to work in tandem with a campaign to manipulate what people see and respond to. This was the case when the Clinton campaign asked journalists to withhold critical coverage of Donald Trump, and give him as much coverage as possible to raise his profile. They worked to handpick Clinton’s opponent. If you talk to them now, they are horrified that Donald Trump is the candidate.

None of the stories that horrify them now are new. They are years old. Decades, even. It is mind-blowing that no one decided to drop any of this before now. Unless, of course, you believe the idea that they sat on it in order to destroy him in the general. What’s more, that they did so at the request of the Clinton campaign. It is not only plausible, it is in fact the most likely scenario. It’s not like the journalists just sat on their hands for a year before dropping all this. A little research, a few phone calls, and all of this information would have been out their much sooner. But, that didn’t help the agenda.

So, while some folks on the Right can (and should) take some of the blame for creating the monster that is Republican Nominee Donald Trump, the Media cannot be allowed to feel horrified for the monster they too helped to make. This is on them. They had stories, they chose not to run them. They chose to favor a candidate. They were too afraid to lose a source....

As many journalists as there are openly disdainful of Donald Trump, there should have been long before now reports of these stories. These didn't just happen between his formal nomination and right now. These are decades of stories coming to light all at once. And journalists should be absolutely ashamed of themselves for either missing them or sitting on them until it was opportune for someone else.

absolutely disgusting, left wing media had this tape for 11 years and did nothing with it when the republican primaries were going on. the left wing media could care less if the electorate are represented by honest and decent people, the only care if their liberal candidate wins.

So... you're not disgusted by Trump's behavior, you're just disgusted by the timing of the media? You're not outraged by the sexual assault (it's right there in the title), you're outraged the media didn't tell us in the primary?

Interesting but not surprising set of priorities you have there.

stop lying, I've already told you that I think think trump is a womanizing idiot, and yes its just as disgusting as Trumps words and his accused actions that the liberal media had this material on trump but sat on it during primaries

Ultimately, NBC shot itself in the foot by not releasing the footage. They missed out on their own scoop. But aren't we glad the tape is out now, while there's still time to avoid electing a serial sexual assailant?

And by the way, if this was the footage you were waiting to finally dump support for the guy, you haven't been paying enough attention. We knew, long before last week, that the guy was a pig. We didn't know the full extent, and we probably still don't, but there should have been a judgement made. If you failed to make it, that's on you.

Were you under the impression that Trump was a decent guy before the tape leaked?

I don't care what he is. He is right on policy and Hillary is wrong. Hillary's policies will sink this country. Anybody who votes for rotten policy because they don't like Trump personally is an idiot and an imbecile and is destroying their own children's futures.

actually NBC planned to use the tape but hurricane Mathews derailed their plans so upset staffers leaked to another source.
http://www.tmz.com/2016/10/12/nbc-trump-tape-billy-bush-plan-election-debate/
NBC execs had a plan to time the release of the Donald Trump audio to have maximum impact on both the 2nd presidential debate and the general election ... sources connected with the network tell TMZ.

Multiple sources connected with NBC tell us ... top network execs knew about the video long before they publicly said they did, but wanted to hold it because it was too early in the election. The sources say many NBC execs have open disdain for Trump and their plan was to roll out the tape 48 hours before the debate so it would dominate the news cycle leading up to the face-off.

As we reported, Billy Bush was bragging about the tape -- in front of NBC execs at the Rio Olympics -- in early August. NBC says it's only known about the tape for a little more than a week.

We're told the plan was to edit the tape to keep the focus on Trump and not Billy. "Access Hollywood" we're told was not going to air the portion where Trump and Billy got off the bus and Billy goaded Trump and the soap star to hug. Our sources say the tape was going to be "sanitized" to protect Billy as much as possible.

Case in point ... after The Washington Post ran the story, 'Access' aired their footage and cut out the parts where Billy looked worse -- saying things like, "Jeez! Your girl's hot as s*** in the purple!"

We've told you the plan got derailed by Hurricane Matthew. Execs decided the wall-to-wall coverage of the storm would mess up the plan to dominate the news with the Trump tape, so they were going to hold it until Monday. It didn't sit well with some staffers who wanted it out pre-debate, so it was leaked to the Washington Post.

As one source put it, "NBC really screwed Billy. They had no problem with him on the tape 'till it got leaked." The source goes on to say there was never a peep about disciplining Billy until the full tape got leaked.
God help us if TMZ is the only ones trying to understand what went on behind the scenes on the Trump tape release

So your outrage isn't for the sexual assault, your outrage is because the media didn't report it when you think it should have been reported?

Telling.

are you just ignoring my post to you already, I'm outrage that the liberal media had a death blow on womanizing Trump but sat on it so Hillary could win.

Were you as outraged by Bill Clinton? Or, does he get a pass because he's a liberal Democrat? Be honest now.

Democrats are up in arms against Trump for saying some "Naughty words", however, they just think: "Well, Bill was just being Bill." He's a "Good old boy, at heart."

Your own words show that your primary outrage is at the timing of the report, while your outrage at the the sexual assault is somewhere between secondary and nonexistent.

womanizing idiots well always exist in our society, it's the press responsibility to vet these people and report what they find in a timely manner so the electorate can make informed voting decisions. so pardon me, if my language is harsher on the media who abandoned their necessary responsibilities so Satan can be elected than on Trump.
