Those Christ died for are saved, put into a right relationship with God, by His death, while they are enemies and unbelievers Rom 5:10 ! They are secure from being lost and condemned even as enemies !

All of mankind was reconciled to God because all men are sinners and without the death of Christ the whole world would have perished forever.
Individuals must believe, repent, and obey, in order to be saved by His Life.
Rom 5:11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.

To say that all mankind was reconciled to God by Christ death while they were enemies is a lie,for many people as enemies are under God's condemnation and wrath John 3:18,36 ! not reconciled to God!
So you think Christ only died for those God was going to save?
2Co 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
Why did He reconcile the whole world to Himself if He only reconciled those He was going to save?
The world was about to be destroyed utterly if Christ had not died when He did.
Reconciling the world and reconciling individuals are two things.
