Humanist Group Wins Court Case; Nativity Scene at Courthouse Comes Down

U.S. District Judge Timothy L. Brooks issued his decision today, determining that the display violated the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, and ordered that Baxter County must either “refrain from placing any religiously sectarian seasonal display on the courthouse grounds” or “create a public forum on the courthouse grounds for a seasonal display open to persons of all faiths as well as of no faith at all, without discrimination on the basis of viewpoint.”

Nativity Scene in Wadena, MN Comes Down After Complaint

WADENA, Minn. -- The Wadena city council voted unanimously but hesitantly to remove a beloved nativity scene from a city park Tuesday night...

...Tuesday's council meeting was packed. Resident after resident spoke up in favor of keeping the display. But fear of a lawsuit convinced the council and Mayor Deiss it was time to break with tradition. They voted to donate the display to the local Ministerial Association, who can showcase the display on private property.

Just call it a violation of the U.S. Constitution, the Government does.
Christmas is an official U.S. holiday and it does not violate the U.S. Constitution in any way, even if it is considered a religious holiday.

If you want an atheistic government, move to the former Soviet Union.

Sure, If I were so inclined.

A likewise silly ultimatum for you: If you want to live under theocratic government rule, move to Iran. :idunno:

The City of Orange (Texas) had a nativity scene at their city hall. The Orange County Atheists of Texas put in a request to put up their own display, namely this banner...

Rather than share the public space, the city decided to remove the nativity scene, showing once again that what these Christians truly want is exclusive access and special privileges for themselves only.

Christmas is a national holiday--for good reason, God-hater (Jn 14:6, 15:25). :burnlib:

In the constitutionally Christian UK, we have two days holiday for Christmas and another two for Easter.

Out of ten federal holidays, nine are secular, and you don't get an Easter Holiday - for what good reason is that omission?
