Trumpcare

This is just sad, here is more to this story.

https://spectator.org/obamacare-time-for-trump-to-make-congress-share-our-pain/
This exemption was created when Trump’s predecessor directed the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) to classify Congress as a small business, and unknown congressional staffers submitted a fraudulent application to the D.C. Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP) exchange claiming that the House and Senate employ only 45 people each.

Among the most mysterious, not to mention suspicious, features of this legal sleight-of-hand involves precisely who submitted the fraudulent application. If you open the above link, it will become obvious why the term “unknown congressional staffers” is used here. All of the names on the application have been redacted. When the Chairman of the Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee attempted to subpoena the D.C. SHOP exchange for an unexpurgated copy, five Republican Senators voted with the committee’s Democrats to quash the subpoena. Who says there’s no bipartisanship in the Senate?

What insane notion do people have that healthcare costs and premiums will ever go down? Is anything else getting cheaper in the world today? Soak up some more Obamacare for next year.

Why would it be reasonable? Well, if health care costs are arbitrary, inflated, etc. then it's reasonable. If laws exist that thwart competition and those restrictions are removed it would be reasonable. In short, when we find ourselves paying significantly more (2.5 times more on average) as a percent of our GDP than countries with universal coverage, something is wrong and the fix is in. People know that or sense it.

Do you realize that Medicare for all, or "universal" healthcare would destroy our economy? It would work for a time, but eventually collapse.

A new healthcare plan from the Republicans is back on the table, Lindsay Graham talked about it on FOX News today. Shortly after it was announced, Communist Bernie Sanders announced his socialist Medicare for all plan.

International healthcare comparisons make Bernie Sanders' universal healthcare proposal look like the best affordable option.

The Republicans don't have a viable alternative - even "Patrick jane" has given up on the assertion that competition in the private sector can keep healthcare costs down!

Ask Canadians whether they would trade in their universal system for what passes for healthcare in America!

"Communist" Bernie Sanders "socialist Medicare for all plan" has been successfully operating for decades in virtually every other modern democracy in the world - at a fraction of the cost that Americans are currently paying.

Why are conservatives afraid of a healthcare system with a proven track record!

Government controlled healthcare would be a nightmare for this country. Please leave, you obviously don't like it here anymore since you have no voice and no influence, you're a boy without a country.

That's one theory. But really it depends on the premise, the system within which it operates. I reject the notion that it is impossible for everyone to have affordable healthcare, that some people are simply going without. It's as nonsensical to me as saying that everyone being able to eat enough to survive is impossible, that some simply have to starve here.

Just like it did in "NO COUNTRY EVER" that has universal health care.

Norway has had single payer health care since 1912 and going strong. (I never hear of Norway as an example of a failing system)

Of the dozens of functioning universal health care systems around the world, the right refuses to acknowledge the successes that are evident and choose to focus only on negative aspects of a few. They seem to entirely lack the capacity to evaluate the successes and craft a health care plan around them. They are intent on pushing the most failed health care system ever. That being the private sector health insurance ponzi scheme.

How else can American doctors, medical services, pharma and lobbyists make their huge salaries?

I heard of a wonderful proposal from Trump. If healthcare bill is not passed the healthcare plans of Congress is reduced and cut. :thumb:

Congress is on Obamacare. They get an employer subsidy from the government, but they buy their plans on the same exchanges as everyone else.

Trump made a comment that he was surprised there wasn't a bill on his desk ready to sign on day one. He got a lot of grief for it from a lot of people, but I kinda think he's right about that. The Republicans have been claiming to be ready to "repeal and replace" for eight years, And finally they get a chance to do it...and it turns out that was all just posturing and they had no plan.

The only thing I can fault him for there is not realizing that was what was gonna happen.
