Eternal life is the gift of God through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23 KJV in the dispensation of the gospel (1 Corinthians 9:17 KJV) and the dispensation of the grace of God to usward (Ephesians 3:1-9 KJV). If you want to be a partaker of Christ, it is only by the gospel that you can be. Trust the Lord believing it and you will be (1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV).

I have been saying over and over that I am not sinless and not perfect.

Then get saved by trusting the One who is perfect, who was made flesh, knew no sin, but was made sin for you and died on the cross to pay the wages of your sin and for your sins (Romans 4:25 KJV, Romans 6:23 KJV, 1 Corinthians 15:-14 KJV, 2 Corinthians 5:21 KJV). When you do trust Him for salvation you will be made the righteousness of God in Him (Romans 3:21-22 KJV, 2 Corinthians 5:21 KJV).
