It serves a purpose, but the real fruit of such exchange remains to be seen. Service is rendered for those interested in the Urantia Book, to really discover its contribution and value. Any are free to accept or dismiss such upon a thorough investigation of the content and context of the papers, however some here come only with assumptions, preconceived biases, presumptions, knee-jerk reactions, apologetic posturing, etc. Much could be said for the general benefit of learning, but not all are interested in expanding consciousness or seeing things beyond their own narrow concepts of theology.

These transmissions at least serve as a springboard for many subjects which correlate with all world religions, science and philosophy, and most importantly the epic journey of the mortal soul in its evolutionary journey Godward, ultimately to the First Source and Center, the Universal Father himself who is the original, absolute and ultimate reality, The Source.

The Papers present the Father as being the head of the 'Paradise Trinity', so that the theology is certainly 'trinitarian' in essence, but its concept of the Trinity and where Jesus fits into the scheme of the 'Godhead' differs somewhat from traditional orthodox Christology, but this is explored and described elsewhere.

Nevertheless, its contributions on the subject of 'Religion', the evolutionary ascent and divine destiny of man stands unparalleled. However this groups of celestials reveal that much info. not concerning the ascension-program of progressing mortals is revealed in the papers, which shows there is much beyond the knowledge of man in the cosmos that does not necessarily concern him, but what is shared is sufficient for man, as he is given only what the natural course of evolution grants him, what is earned, and what comes by way of divine dispensation as 'revelation' when man is ready to receive such information. In this way the UB is the 'Fifth Epochal Revelation' given to the planet, Jesus ministry was the 4th.

A synopsis of all 5 epochal revelations are reviewed Here (covering outreach principles exemplified in each epoch)

Thanks Freelight.

As you know, revelation sorts and sensors the evolutionary religions; religions which originated in real revelation but became contaminated by the speculations of the finite mind of man.

Bible worshipers live in a mystical, unreal world as the result of the false teaching of the OT stories; exaggerations of the elite Hebrew priest class (never intended to be the word of God). The problem is further complicated by the Christian belief in multiple Gods; the Satan God of this world and the Father God of Jesus, far off and less active then the Satan God. Then there is the Bible fetish and then Jesus fits in theologically, in some unclear manner. The result is an almost paranoid state of mistrust and anxiety; any criticism of the priestly stories is a trick from the Satan God. The result is that they stay hopelessly marooned in the unreal past.

"The custom of looking upon the record of the experiences of the Hebrews as sacred history and upon the transactions of the rest of the world as profane history is responsible for much of the confusion existing in the human mind as to the interpretation of history. And this difficulty arises because there is no secular history of the Jews. After the priests of the Babylonian exile had prepared their new record of God’s supposedly miraculous dealings with the Hebrews, the sacred history of Israel as portrayed in the Old Testament, they carefully and completely destroyed the existing records of Hebrew affairs — such books as “The Doings of the Kings of Israel” and “The Doings of the Kings of Judah,” together with several other more or less accurate records of Hebrew history."

Jesus speaks to this issue of the hateful Christian:

"Discern the truth clearly; live the righteous life fearlessly; and so shall you be my apostles and my Father’s ambassadors. You have heard it said: ‘If the blind lead the blind, they both shall fall into the pit.’ If you would guide others into the kingdom, you must yourselves walk in the clear light of living truth. In all the business of the kingdom I exhort you to show just judgment and keen wisdom. Present not that which is holy to dogs, neither cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample your gems under foot and turn to rend you."

Christians follow The Bible to where it was intended to lead: into God's Presence. We have The Living Word of God living inside of us. It's obvious what you have living inside of you, as you attack Christianity and promote every lie of a demon.

Prior to the Urantia Revelation this world knew nothing of what “heaven” would look like. We now have a road map of the future, of what we can expect as we progress forward towards our destiny as “finalitors.”

"On the mansion worlds the resurrected mortal survivors resume their lives just where they left off when overtaken by death. When you go from Urantia to the first mansion world, you will notice considerable change, but if you had come from a more normal and progressive sphere of time, you would hardly notice the difference except for the fact that you were in possession of a different body; the tabernacle of flesh and blood has been left behind on the world of nativity.

The very center of all activities on the first mansion world is the resurrection hall, the enormous temple of personality assembly. This gigantic structure consists of the central rendezvous of the seraphic destiny guardians, the Thought Adjusters, and the archangels of the resurrection. The Life Carriers also function with these celestial beings in the resurrection of the dead.

The mortal-mind transcripts and the active creature-memory patterns as transformed from the material levels to the spiritual are the individual possession of the detached Thought Adjusters; these spiritized factors of mind, memory, and creature personality are forever a part of such Adjusters. The creature mind-matrix and the passive potentials of identity are present in the morontia soul intrusted to the keeping of the seraphic destiny guardians. And it is the reuniting of the morontia-soul trust of the seraphim and the spirit-mind trust of the Adjuster that reassembles creature personality and constitutes resurrection of a sleeping survivor."

“You cannot buy salvation; you cannot earn righteousness. Salvation is the gift of God, and righteousness is the natural fruit of the spirit-born life of sonship in the kingdom. You are not to be saved because you live a righteous life; rather is it that you live a righteous life because you have already been saved, have recognized sonship as the gift of God and service in the kingdom as the supreme delight of life on earth. When men believe this gospel, which is a revelation of the goodness of God, they will be led to voluntary repentance of all known sin. Realization of sonship is incompatible with the desire to sin. Kingdom believers hunger for righteousness and thirst for divine perfection.” Jesus

That realization spoken of ALSO makes one realize what a farce spurious texts are to God's Holy Word. The inconsistency is always obvious. God would NEVER violate His Word. The UB is false and a newborn Christian can spot it a hundred miles away.

...."It has long since ceased to be the religion of Jesus"...

"The Christian religion, as a Urantian system of belief, arose through the compounding of the following teachings, influences, beliefs, cults, and personal individual attitudes:

1. The Melchizedek teachings, which are a basic factor in all the religions of Occident and Orient that have arisen in the last four thousand years.

2. The Hebraic system of morality, ethics, theology, and belief in both Providence and the supreme Yahweh.

3. The Zoroastrian conception of the struggle between cosmic good and evil, which had already left its imprint on both Judaism and Mithraism. Through prolonged contact attendant upon the struggles between Mithraism and Christianity, the doctrines of the Iranian prophet became a potent factor in determining the theologic and philosophic cast and structure of the dogmas, tenets, and cosmology of the Hellenized and Latinized versions of the teachings of Jesus.

4. The mystery cults, especially Mithraism, but also the worship of the Great Mother in the Phrygian cult. Even the legends of the birth of Jesus on Urantia became tainted with the Roman version of the miraculous birth of the Iranian savior-hero, Mithras, whose advent on earth was supposed to have been witnessed by only a handful of gift-bearing shepherds who had been informed of this impending event by angels.

5. The historic fact of the human life of Joshua ben Joseph, the reality of Jesus of Nazareth as the glorified Christ, the Son of God.

6. The personal viewpoint of Paul of Tarsus. And it should be recorded that Mithraism was the dominant religion of Tarsus during his adolescence. Paul little dreamed that his well-intentioned letters to his converts would someday be regarded by still later Christians as the "word of God." Such well-meaning teachers must not be held accountable for the use made of their writings by later-day successors.

7. The philosophic thought of the Hellenistic peoples, from Alexandria and Antioch through Greece to Syracuse and Rome. The philosophy of the Greeks was more in harmony with Paul's version of Christianity than with any other current religious system and became an important factor in the success of Christianity in the Occident. Greek philosophy, coupled with Paul's theology, still forms the basis of European ethics.

98:7.11 As the original teachings of Jesus penetrated the Occident, they became Occidentalized, and as they became Occidentalized, they began to lose their potentially universal appeal to all races and kinds of men. Christianity, today, has become a religion well adapted to the social, economic, and political mores of the white races. It has long since ceased to be the religion of Jesus, although it still valiantly portrays a beautiful religion about Jesus to such individuals as sincerely seek to follow in the way of its teaching. It has glorified Jesus as the Christ, the Messianic anointed one from God, but has largely forgotten the Master's personal gospel: the Fatherhood of God and the universal brotherhood of all men."

The Word of God isn't designed to create a religion or make men believe a certain way... It was designed to bring men into a relationship with The Living God. The Jebus of the Urantia Papers doesn't exist, and a relationship with God doesn't come from reading them.

The Bible is the creation of two groups:

* The elite Hebrew priest class, during the Babylonion captivity

* The Roman Catholic Church

Its like a salad dressing, you have to keep shaking it up before poring it out else you can see the clear divisions between the Persian doctrines and Moses, between the OT and the NT, between Jesus' Gospel and Paul’s Pagan remake. Then the Book of Revelation is like some sort of mold.:vomit:

Joseph died in a construction accident when Jesus was 14 leaving him with responsibility of raising his younger brothers and sisters as head of the household.

When Jesus was 5 (2 BC ) his first sibling was born

1) Miriam, who was born on the night of July 11

2) Joseph, was born Wednesday morning, March 16, A.D. 1

3) Simon, was born on Friday evening, April 14, of this year, A.D. 2.

4) Jesus’ second sister, Martha, was born Thursday night, September 13. Three weeks after the coming of Martha, Joseph, who was home for awhile, started the building of an addition to their house, a combined workshop and bedroom. A small workbench was built for Jesus, and for the first time he possessed tools of his own. At odd times for many years he worked at this bench and became highly expert in the making of yokes.

5) On Wednesday evening, June 24, A.D. 5, Jude was born. Complications attended the birth of this, the seventh child. Mary was so very ill for several weeks that Joseph remained at home. Jesus was very much occupied with errands for his father and with many duties occasioned by his mother’s serious illness. Never again did this youth find it possible to return to the childlike attitude of his earlier years. From the time of his mother’s illness — just before he was eleven years old — he was compelled to assume the responsibilities of the first-born son and to do all this one or two full years before these burdens should normally have fallen on his shoulders.

6) On Sunday night, January 9, A.D. 7, his baby brother, Amos, was born. Jude was not yet two years of age, and the baby sister, Ruth, was yet to come; so it may be seen that Jesus had a sizable family of small children left to his watchcare when his father met his accidental death the following year.

THE DEATH OF JOSEPH

126:2.1 All did go well until that fateful day of Tuesday, September 25, when a runner from Sepphoris brought to this Nazareth home the tragic news that Joseph had been severely injured by the falling of a derrick while at work on the governor’s residence. The messenger from Sepphoris had stopped at the shop on the way to Joseph’s home, informing Jesus of his father’s accident, and they went together to the house to break the sad news to Mary. Jesus desired to go immediately to his father, but Mary would hear to nothing but that she must hasten to her husband’s side. She directed that James, then ten years of age, should accompany her to Sepphoris while Jesus remained home with the younger children until she should return, as she did not know how seriously Joseph had been injured. But Joseph died of his injuries before Mary arrived. They brought him to Nazareth, and on the following day he was laid to rest with his fathers.

7) On Wednesday evening, April 17, A.D. 9, Ruth, the baby of the family, was born, and to the best of his ability Jesus endeavored to take the place of his father in comforting and ministering to his mother during this trying and peculiarly sad ordeal. For almost a score of years (until he began his public ministry) no father could have loved and nurtured his daughter any more affectionately and faithfully than Jesus cared for little Ruth. And he was an equally good father to all the other members of his family.

At 22 years old Jesus begins to give the responsibility of the head of the household over to James.

Computer Analysis of Dates in The URANTIA Book

by Matt Neibaur, M.D.
Scientific Symposium I 1988

In 1572 a former professor of law from Bologna named Ugo Buoncompagni became Pope Gregory XIII; ten years later the Gregorian calendar was introduced. The Julian calendar, founded sixteen centuries earlier by Julius Caesar, was inaccurate and the need for reform was widely recognized. Its principal failure was the discrepancy between the mean length of its year, 365.25 days, and the tropical year, then averaging 365.24232 days. This is nearly eleven minutes and four seconds shorter than the Julian year, a small discrepancy which continued to accumulate until it was no longer a matter of minutes but days. By the time of the Gregorian reform, this error had grown to eleven days. Understandably, this was of concern to the Pope; if the calendar had continued unchanged, Easter would eventually be celebrated in the summer.

The attempts at reform set off a wide range of debates, both academic and religious. At one point excommunication was threatened by the Pope against anyone who refused to accept the new calendar. The details and controversies created by the reform are presented beautifully in an article in the May 1982 issue of The Scientific American by Gordon Moyer entitled, "The Gregorian Calendar."

Readers of The URANTIA Book should find the calendar reform and methods of measuring time interesting. In part four of the book, The Life and Teachings of Jesus, there are numerous references to dates. Dates and weekdays are listed unequivocally. Is there any way to check on these dates? Was April 14, A.D. 2, really a Friday as stated? Would it make any difference if the dates and weekdays did not correlate? Would The URANTIA Book be true if major discrepancies existed? Whether or not one accepts or rejects The URANTIA Book is determined more by its spiritual impact rather than possible scientific correlations. Still, it would be nice to know if there existed independent verification of these dates and times.

Using information obtained from the book, Astronomical Formulae for Calculators by Jean Meeus, a program was written to calculate dates and weekdays. The program takes into account the Gregorian calendar reform. All dates are first converted to Julian Day numbers and the results are divided by seven to obtain weekdays from the remainder. A calendar is then generated using this information. Even by computer standards, it is a rather tedious process.

The results were reassuring. The odds of merely guessing the correct day would be one in seven for each day or the product of the separate probabilities for all of the dates listed. This calculates to one chance in 5,764,801 for correctly guessing the eight dates listed. (Now you know why bingo games are a great way of making money.) The following dates were sampled and showed correct dates with corresponding weekdays:

Date Weekday Correlation

April 14, AD 2 Friday Yes

June 24, AD 5 Wednesday Yes

January 9, AD 7 Sunday Yes

April 17, AD 9 Wednesday Yes

April 26, AD 22 Sunday Yes

March 3, AD 26 Sunday Yes

February 23, AD 26 Saturday Yes

June 18, AD 26 Tuesday Yes

There are more dates in The URANTIA Book. Perhaps other readers would like to experiment with the program. Future projects could include construction of a calendar with corresponding events listed for specific dates during the life of Jesus. A chronological guide with specific maps could become an important adjunct in studying part four of the book. The calendars are already available that encompass the time periods from 8 B.C. to 30 A.D.

If the UB papers had it right then the followers of these teachings would have a window opened up for them and allow them to participate in divine events.

When Jesus and the apostles did miracles it was not them doing the miracle but because of the harmony between them and God, that allowed God to do the miracle through them.

Today is no different and God does not change. Therefore, if someone is worshiping in spirit and in truth they will see miracles because God will do miracles through them.

Just because you don't see any followers or supporters of the UB papers doing any miracles prove that at best all they are is a bunch of opinions that have missed the mark of truth.

Livelystone, that's your own reasoning, it carry's no weight in the assessment of spiritual truth. Seeking signs and miracles is not a healthy basis for faith as demonstrated by Jesus when he preformed miracles yet his enemies became even more determined to reject him.

It is interesting to note however that the UB made a number of scientific and historical statements which were at odds with science when the revelation occurred. Some of those have now been validated . To God nothing is a miracle, so myself I think they are overrated, fascinating yes, but a diversion from a living faith relationship.

"When the Creator himself was on earth, incarnated in the likeness of mortal flesh, it was inevitable that some extraordinary things should happen. But you should never approach Jesus through these so-called miraculous occurrences. Learn to approach the miracle through Jesus, but do not make the mistake of approaching Jesus through the miracle. And this admonition is warranted, notwithstanding that Jesus of Nazareth is the only founder of a religion who performed supermaterial acts on earth."

The presence of truth is the presence of what is divine and divinity is a supernatural presence. The truth is the creator of all things and as the creator of laws such as gravity, polarity, energy, light etc., it uses them as it pleases.

This is why we call the presence of it to be supernatural and why we see the presence of it through signs and wonders.

It's presence is always recognizable and that is why Jesus and the apostles were known for miracles because the harmony between them and their Creator who is the truth.

By the same token if there is nothing ever seen supernatural coming from something is because it is only natural a.k.a. good or evil.

At best those papers you worship are good but there is nothing divine about them nor do they describe what is divine because if they did you would witness the presence of divine fruit. (the law of the seed of truth)

It is not a matter of looking or seeking after what is already there.

That is why Jesus said by their fruit you shall know them.

Miracles, signs an wonders came about threw the less prefered House of Moses. Taking the world by the sound of a storm was early style politics.

Today. we Don't have a presence of spiritual beings ruling politics it would difficult to argue the sign as a sign.
