The Just, Merciful, Righteous, Holy Nature of God

All that God is and all that God does is perfect, Psalm 18:30. This is why we can trust him. It is the work of Satan to teach that God is unjust and unmerciful. All false religions attack God's character through their doctrine. The Calvinist religion teaches that God is an unjust, unmerciful tyrant that delights in sending people to hell before they are born. Catholicism teaches that God is a taskmaster that will punish you if you fail to live up to what is required. If you question the Catholic church you may become anathema (kicked out of the Catholic church).

The basis for ones faith is to believe that God and his Son Jesus Christ are just, merciful, righteous and holy in all that they say and do. If you don't have confidence in God and his Son Jesus Christ you may not have saving faith and are lost.

Paul wrote,
"There remains a rest to the people of God. For he that has entered into his rest, he also has ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief" Hebrews 4:9-11.

We rest in the holy nature of God. We that are saved believe that God and his Son Jesus Christ will do all that they promised to do. All of the promises that God made to Israel were fulfilled when he gave them Jesus Christ. God's word is like gold, it always accomplishes his purpose.

Beware of those who try to undermine the just, merciful, righteous, holy nature of God and his Son Jesus Christ. Salvation always has been by grace through faith. If you doubt God or Christ you have defective faith and may not be saved. The word faith appears in the 11th chapter of Hebrews 22 times.

"But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that comes to God MUST believe that he is, and that he is the rewarder of them that diligently seek him" Hebrews 11:6.

If you do not believe that God is just, merciful, and righteous I doubt that you will be saved. If you do not believe that Jesus victoriously defeated sin, death and the devil, I doubt that you will be saved. The acid test will be when you stand before God in the judgment and profess what you believe about God and his Son Jesus Christ.

"But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account of in the day of judgment. For by your words you shall be justified, and by your words you shall be condemned" Matthew 12:36, 37.

From the very beginning people were justified by their faith in God. They believed God, Romans 4:3. And now we believe in God's Son Jesus Christ. We that are saved believe that Jesus has victoriously defeated sin, death and the devil and in doing so has reconciled us and the whole world unto God, 2 Corinthians 5:18, 19. This is known as saving faith.

Negative beliefs about God and his Son Jesus Christ will not save you, instead they will condemn you. When Jesus appears some will run into caves and call for the rocks to fall on them because they have rejected him, Revelation 6:15, 16. Will you have confidence to stand before him in the judgment or will you be fearful and unbelieving? Revelation 21:8.

The appearance of Jesus and the judgment will separate the sheep from the goats. Those that have confidence in God and his Son Jesus Christ will enter into eternal life, those that don't will perish.
