BY STEPHEN CHARNOCK

The holiness of God is his glory and crown. It is the blessedness of his nature. It renders him glorious in himself, and glorious to his creatures. “Holy” is more fixed as an epithet to his name than any other. This is his greatest title of honour. He is pure and unmixed light, free from all blemish in his essence, nature, and operations. He cannot be deformed by any evil.*The notion of God cannot be entertained without separating from him whatever is impure and staining. Though he is majestic, eternal, almighty, wise, immutable, merciful, and whatsoever other perfections may dignify so sovereign a being, yet if we conceive him destitute of this excellent perfection, and imagine him possessed with the least contagion of evil, we make him but an infinite monster, and sully all those perfections we ascribed to him*before.

It is a contradiction for him to be God and to have any darkness mixed with his light. To deny his purity, makes him no God. He that says God is not holy, speaks much worse than if he said there is no God at all. Where do we read of the angels crying out Eternal or Faithful Lord God of hosts? But we do hear them singing Holy, Holy, Holy. God swears by his holiness (Psa. 89:35). His holiness is a pledge for the assurance of his promises. Power is his hand, omniscience his eye, mercy his heart, eternity his duration, but holiness his beauty. It renders him lovely and gives beauty to all his attributes. Every action of his is free from all hints of evil. Holiness is the crown of all his attributes, the life of all his decrees, and the brightness of all his actions. Nothing is decreed by him and nothing is acted by him that is not consistent with the beauty of his*holiness.

I'm not sinning when I curse, but God wouldn't do it.

The biggest Christian stereotypes are the world's views on good and evil. In the bible God wiped out the whole world with a flood. Do you know what kind of death drowning is like? Or burning Sodom and Gomorrha to ashes? Or sending the Israelites into the promised land to wipe out entire races of people?

Who did those things - God or the devil?

Cursing is incompatible with personal holiness.

“As he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation [life]” (1 Pet. 1:15).

"The fundamental characteristic of Elohim Himself, that so impressed Isaiah the prophet that on thirty occasions he addressed Yah Veh as, “the Holy one of Israel.” In other words, our principal thought concerning Elohim is of His constant, impeccable moral purity, blending with His life and power, that results in glory of an immeasurable magnitude, that sets Him apart from that which is unholy.

For this reason, the holiness of Elohim is that attribute which brings forth, in the heart of the genuine man of trust, awe, reverence, the prostration of heart*, humble submission, conviction of unholiness, and a yearning to be holy even as He is
holy."

heart* not the blood pump.

(Compiled from notes)

It should be noted that Isaiah never once used the words, The Loved One of Israel.

Holiness does not seek for nor make excuses to sin. Holiness is not a kinsman of the profane. Holiness is at odds with an unholy thought and the two do not share the same venue.

"By their fruit ye shall know them"...the unholy, the irreverent, the profane and the vile.

"A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh".

"There is none holy as Yah Veh for there is none except Thee. Neither is there any rock like our Elohim. Abound not thy word so high and lofty; let not impudence go out of your mouth: For Yah Veh is an El of knowledge, and by Him exploits are gauged."

He knows and judges each and every single intent, thought, word and deed.

To contrast light it is necessary to have darkness. To contrast peace it is necessary to have evil. To contrast holiness it is necessary to have unholiness.

Yah Veh Elohim’s Holy perfections and Goodness ensure that only Holy Goodness emanate from His Being.

It is equally true to say of Satan that his unholy imperfections and badness ensure that only unholy badness/wickedness/evil emanate from his being.

To surround light with darkness does not diminish the light but shows and augments its brilliant splendour. When we look across the visible heavens we see more darkness than light. But, the lights we see are seen as precious jewels…amen.

Mankind uses radiation to take X-rays. The Almighty uses the radiance of His Holiness to X-ray the inner man and expose his unholiness. The man thus exposed crumbles in shame and is awash with tears. This exposure reoccurs and is accompanied by repentance that leads to personal holiness. Without which no man shall see Elohim, amen.

The revelation of and the limited exposure to the Holiness of Elohim is restricted to the regenerate and hidden from the degenerate, from hypocrites, false brethren and most certainly false teachers.

No hypocrite or false professor could give an account of the experience any more than he can give an account of conversion and regeneration.

Hallowed be Thy Name.

So Hallowed it has been hidden from many generations. Everytime you pray Hallowed be Thy Name the Eternal says amen and keeps it hidden.

Truster is so stupid he thinks he has to say God's name exactly right or he will be lost. Just a Satanic messianic!
