SALVATION: God's Great Free Gift For All Of Humanity

What a shame to NOT believe that our Lord has provided salvation for all of humanity. Especially when there are numerous scriptures that tell us that he has, such as John 3:16-18.

He that raises the dead, turns water into wine, feeds 5000 and walks on water is able to save to the uttermost.

"Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing that he ever lives to make intercession for them" Hebrews 7:25.

The only condition for salvation is that we come to Christ to be saved by him. "Whosoever that shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" Romans 10:13. If you don't call on him he may not know you and you may hear those dreadful words, "Depart from me, I never knew you" Matthew 7:23.

Salvation cannot be earned through good works and obedience to the law. The reason for this is that God does not accept the works or the obedience of sinners. God only accepts the works and the obedience of Jesus Christ. We are accepted only in him. If anyone goes to heaven it will be on the merits of Jesus Christ, Romans 3:26.

The reason that salvation is a gift from God is because the work of salvation has already been done. Paul said to the Colossians, "And you are complete in him (Jesus), who is the head of all principality and power" Colossians 2:10. We can't make ourselves any better than what God has made us in Jesus Christ. Because of the doing and the dying of Jesus, God now sees us as perfect and complete "In Christ". Spiritually we are "In Christ" and Christ is in heaven.

"And has raised us up together, and has made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus" Ephesians 2:6.

When we receive what God has done for us in Jesus Christ we enter into his rest, Hebrews 4:10. We cease from our own works or religion and rest in his work of salvation.

We are created in Christ for good works, not rest.

For we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:10 NKJV)

Not our works, his works.

You will not be able to do the work until you enter into his rest.
