In 100 years when people look back on Francis's legacy, they won't view it how most of you guys on here do. He'll be seen as the Pope who brought the Catholic Church into the 21st century and changed it to make it more inclusive and accessible to all who want to be a part of it. It's sad that you, especially the Catholics among you, can't see that.

And before anyone starts throwing stones, I'm no Catholic

God does not change (Mal 3:6, Jas 1:17, 1 Pe 1:23)--you do (1 Jn 2:4) :reals: --God does not (Ps 119:97). :straight:

Except He did change. He changed His mind on marrying your sister, on the slaughter of innocents, etc. Then He made the biggest change of all when He sent His son to die so that men could have eternal life, plus all of the little edits to the Old Covenant that Jesus made. You know, like how it's cool to eat lobster and pork now?

So yes, God does evolve on issues, it would seem

All of that was planned by Him before the foundation of the world. So in what sense did He change or evolve?

The most literal sense. He said that you should do things one way, then when conditions changed so did His opinion on what was acceptable. Whether the changes were pre-planned or not, they're still changes

But HE did not change, as you claimed.

'Evolve' did not mean a physical change in my post. It meant a change in how you view what is acceptable.

Like you hear in politics all the time that some candidates evolve on certain issues

If you want to know why I'm so firm on this,

And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Consider all that this entails.

I know what you meant but the answer is still No. All went as He knew it would, from the beginning.

Then the changes were planned. Still changes, however. And they are always in response to changing conditions in society. You say that it was planned and that's fine. It's still a change from what He originally allowed

From man's POV only? Fine.

God does not slaughter innocence. :dizzy: He slaughters the wicked (1 Sa 15:32–35). That's a good thing. Why do you side with God's enemies?

"You know, like how it's cool to eat lobster and pork now?"

Understand the difference between ceremonial law and moral law. :dizzy: You know like going to Red Lobster vs. committing adultery? Mt 5:18 :freak:

God does not change (Mal 3:6, Jas 1:17, 1 Pe 1:23). He is committed to righteousness (Is 11:5). :hammer:

Your way is not better than God's way. :dizzy: Did God change his mind when men repented? Yes (Jon. 3:5–9). He is merciful. Does God's holiness change? Re 3:7 No, it does not. Ga 6:7 Talk about God's evolving on an issue that just so happens to line up with what you think. :noway:

So the babies of the Israelites' enemies were wicked? Interesting. That's kind of how Islamic extremists view Westerners. And exactly how the New Black Panther Party views white babies. Very interesting

Further, God commanded the animals of the "wicked" to be slaughtered and not used by Israel. They were wicked too, I guess?

have you ever read the bible?

Every time someone brings this ceremonial and moral division of the law up I ask for biblical references that such a division exists. No one ever answers the question.

Babies grow to become wicked (Mt 18:3).

That's kind of how Islamic extremists view Westerners.
Are they wrong? Ge 6:5, 1 Jn 2:15, Mt 24:37

Destroying evil is a good thing. :listen: God doesn't answer to you. You answer to him. Talk about why you side with God's enemies. :smokie:

Now you know what God thinks of sin (Ge 6:5, Eccl 10:2, Jn 10:10). :thumb: God will not destroy the world with water again (Ge 9:13). :surf: Next time it will be with fire (2 Pe 3:12). :burnlib:

I did not expect you to side with the Islamic extremists and New Black Panther Party. You lose points for being crazy, but do a gain a few for consistency.

If you think killing ANY babies is justified, then God help you.

On a related note, am I to understand that you think if the Israelites had raised their enemies' babies, that they would've still turned out to be opposed to Israel? Please.....that is just absurd
