1 Cor 1:30 Made Complete in Him !
1 Cor 1:30 Made Complete in Him !
1 Cor 1:29-30
29That no flesh should glory in his presence.
30
But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
But of God, are those of us who are in Christ Jesus 2 Tim 1:9;Rom 8:1] that we are in Christ Jesus, not because of the something we did, for that gives occasion for flesh to glory in His Presence.
And God has made Him [Christ] to be unto us Righteousness and Sanctification.
He made us the Righteousness of God in Him 2 Cor 5:21, this is Imputed Righteousness as Per Rom 4:6
6Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man,
unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,
And Sanctification ! That is Imputed Righteousness ensures Imparted Righteousness, which is Our Experiential Sanctification 2 Thess 2:13
13But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through
sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
Thats Imparted Righteousness, that is God the Holy Spirit beginning a work in us Phil 1:6
Being confident of this very thing, that
he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
This is Sanctification of the Spirit or the New Birth, or New Creation, and then in this New Creation we believe in Christ ! Its the New Man that Believes in Christ, not the Old man ! Col 3:10
And have put on
the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
Jn Gill says :
which is renewed in knowledge;
this man, or principle of grace in the soul, is a new one, which never was there before; and there is a daily renovation of it in the spirit of the mind, by the Spirit of God; for as the outward man decays, the inward man, which is the same with this new man, is renewed day by day, increases in holiness and righteousness, grows in grace, and particularly in "knowledge"; light and knowledge of a man's self, of his lost state and condition by nature, of his need of Christ, and of his salvation, is what appears at the first formation of this new man; and the daily renovation of him lies in an increase of spiritual, experimental, and saving knowledge of God, and Christ, and divine things; and indeed, until a man becomes a new creature, he neither knows, nor is he capable of knowing, the things of the Spirit of God; so that this new man, or principle of grace, begins with spiritual knowledge, and is formed in order to it, and its increase lies in it:
You see, it is not until one is given to be a New Man, that he understands his lost state [By Nature] and need of Christ and His Salvation. It is only then, that Christ becomes a suitable Saviour.
So God hath also made him to be unto us Wisdom !
The arminan and freewiller believe it was their wisdom, their prudent behavior, their taking advantage of an opportunity to get saved. They are opportunist :
the policy or practice, as in politics, business, or one's personal affairs, of adapting
actions,
decisions, etc., to expediency or effectiveness regardless of the sacrifice of ethical principles.
Not that they deliberately regard it as unethical, but that they as:
A chance for progress or advancement. They contribute salvation to their accomplishment of taking advantage of a opportunity presented to them, when others with the same opportunity failed to do so, so it is their own fault ! Thats boasting in the flesh ! But those of us who are saved, and have embraced Christ, we know our Believing was a Result of the Grace of God, The Holy Spirit revealing Christ to us, making us see our Need of Him !
