"He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."

The bible says that we are the righteousness of God in Jesus. You cannot become unrighteous. That is correct!Excellent! You truly have a heart for God!This is not true. The death of Jesus was not an atonement. His sacrifice is a better sacrifice than the blood of bulls and goats. The sacrifice of Jesus was a propitiation, and He has taken our sins away, never to be seen again. Jesus died for our sins, once and for all. It is much more than a relationship, Jesus is your very life! We have already established that if you sin, you are a slave of sin. You would not be in Christ, and you would be unrighteous. However, you are correct, that God does not want you to just do whatever you want. You can and do things all the time that are unprofitable, and are inconsistent with who you are in Christ. The bible gives us plenty of instruction on how we are to walk in faith, and to love our neighbor as ourselves, but sin is a violation of the Law, and a Christian is not under the demands of the Law.Without faith, it is impossible to please Him. Any attempt to please God through your behavior, and what you perceive to be obeying the Law, is walking in the flesh, and those who are in the flesh cannot please God.That is correct, because you are incapable of perfect behavior, which is why He had to give you His life, and make you perfect; not in the flesh, but in the spirit which is the real you. You have died with Christ, and the body is dead to God because of indwelling sin in your flesh, but your spirit is alive because you are the righteousness of God in Christ.
You could not be more wrong. That is a major false teaching in the church today! By saying what you did, you are claiming that God takes into account your behavior to be righteous in His sight. Jesus is your life, you have been purchased by the blood of Jesus, and you are not your own. It is impossible for there to be any limitations on your relationship. That is a doctrine of demons. You are claiming that your relationship with God is predicated on your behavior. You are stating that you are right with God if you do right. That would make you self-righteous. Please do not be offended, but there is no way that you can logically disagree with that.

You need to seriously consider what I have shared with you, and then we can discuss this further.
