Jesus said that He will raise Himself from the dead, so you pull a verse completely out of it's context
That's rich.
You quote a verse completely out of context, and then falsely accuse the opponent you're debating of what you actually did.
You say the purpose of John 2:19 is to say that Jesus is God. So, unfortunately John didn't provide any commentary so I won't . . . Oh wait! John did provide commentary! This is where you are going to win, because John will say this is how the disciples knew that "Jesus is the one true God." Oh wait! It doesn't say that either! No instead it says that they understood afterwards that Jesus was referring to himself dying and rising on the third day.
If only John said what you wanted him to say instead of what he actually said. But wait! there are four gospels! Maybe you'll be in luck.
Jackpot! Luke 11:29-30 - not exactly the wording but it is Jesus discussing a similar thing. This is where Jesus will say his resurrection will be a sign that he is the one true . . . nope. It says that it is a sign that he is
sent by God.
However the entire book of John is focusing about how Jesus is speaking for God. But, you think my passage is out of context.
Death was proof that Jesus was human, and resurrection was proof that Jesus is God.
Not in the Bible. In fact, I just quoted a verse in which Jesus explicitly said that his resurrection was proof that he was
sent by God.
Being sent by the one true God does not mean one is the one true God.
