My beloved has been a Certified Nurses Aid for 19 years. She loves what she does and the residents pick up on that right away. She just started at a new facility and this 102 year old man and his wife immediately gravitated to her. The wife had her husband autograph a book of his poetry and gave it to her. Her fellow workers were somewhat taken aback in that he had not previously made this gesture to anyone else there. The first poem reads as follows:
TO MY LOVE MY WIFE
At whom shall I look
if I cannot look at you?
To whom shall I read
if I cannot read to you?
For whom shall I write my poems
If I cannot write them for you?
With whom shall I laugh
if I cannot laugh with you?
What shall I enjoy
If I cannot enjoy you?
