Including domestic. Like it or not JR, Trump has done the *best* job of undercutting American values than any foreign power could hope to achieve. Iran sure has jumped all over the midterm results like a rash and must be laughing their backs off.

You mean like repealing the NFA (pro-2ndAmend), deporting foreign invaders, protecting our borders... Those american values?

It's kind of humorous that at the time I answered you, your post only had one sentence, the one I quoted. That was the entirety of your post.

Fair.

Anyway. Let's not assume the truth of something that obviously didn't happen, and we know it didn't happen.

So you can't answer a hypothetical?

The fact is that roughly 120-125 million people voted resoundingly to repudiate the current administration, giving it a whomping so severe it's historic. Dems only needed 218 seats in the House. So far they have 259. The Senate was expected to be more of a challenge, yet Dems exceeded expectations, blowing past the 4 seats they needed by gaining 7 so far.

Here's more, that you won't hear from MAGA mouthpieces:

In governors’ races, Democrats flipped Iowa, Georgia, Ohio, Nevada, and Texas. None of the new Democratic governors will be hamstrung by a Republican supermajority in the state legislature. Republicans in Kansas, Iowa, North Carolina, and Ohio either lost or failed to regain supermajorities that could override a governor’s veto.

The topline races don’t tell the whole story. Voters elected Democrats up and down the ballot. In Texas, the most prominent example of this phenomenon, Democratic senatorial candidate James Talarico won by about 12 points. Democratic gubernatorial candidate Gina Hinojosa won by 7 points. Voters flipped two congressional seats in districts Trump won by at least 14 points in 2024. Voters elected a Democratic attorney general and four Democratic supreme court justices, and they flipped control of the lower chamber of the legislature.

Many of the races across the country were not close. Some races flipped by double digits from the margins of 2024. Some flips were as high as 20, 30, or even 40 percent. Observers called the results “seismic” and “jaw-dropping,” not just a blue wave but a “tsunami.”

The 2026 midterm elections marked a revolution in American politics. Election scholar Michael McDonald estimates that about 124.3 million people, or just under 50% of those eligible, turned out to vote. That rate is just under the voting rate in the 2018 midterms, which itself was the highest midterm turnout rate since 1914.

The election came off without anything more than the usual hitches, a tribute to the quiet work of dedicated lawyers and voting rights groups who have been fiercely contesting the administration’s efforts to rig the vote or to stir up opposition to accept the outcome. It was, as organizers had hoped, “too big to rig.” After months of suggesting he would contest the outcome of the election if Democrats won, Trump told New York Times reporters Erica L. Green and Tyler Pager that he would accept the results.

The historic nature of this election cannot be overstated. It is a rejection of Trump, who insisted voters should imagine he was on the ballot. But more than that, it is a rejection of the Republican ideology that has driven American politics since the 1980s: the idea that some people are better than others and have the right to rule.

So much more at the link. She ends by saying that "for now, anyway, Americans have moved on."

Trump will be irrelevant sooner than he (maybe even I) expected. He's already back to his ballroom and other pretty things. It remains to be seen if he's lost his recent obsessively male gaze.

Unfortunately, I think you're misconstruing what happened.

Yes, people voted blue. I'm not denying that.

It wasn't because they wanted democrats ruling.

It's because the Re-publicans in certain states have either gotten complacent and think there's no way they'd be voted out, or they were actively seeking to implement the same policies the Dumbocrats were pushing.

Or both.

And sadly, voters didn't stop and think that they could simply just vote for a different Re-publican, instead of voting for a Dumbocrat.

I hope that in 6 years time, people realize what a mistake this was.

You think it's bad now, if you had a kid in 6th grade, he will have graduated high school by the next voting period.

Well there's Trump, the rest of the Epstein class, his cabinet and his billionaire donors to name a few.

And you think the DSA is going to be any better?

Because the same policies they're pushing are very similar if not the same as the ones that moderates (Dems) are pushing.

But better days ahead now that Americans have decided enough is enough. Frankly I'm disheartened by your support of Trumpian lawlessness.

You keep forgetting I don't like Trump.

But I'm also not going to ignore his and his administrations accomplishments.
