My Dad goes to the library 4 or 5 times a week. He reads national newspapers, checks out dvd's and books. All free

I hate to put a needle in your socialist balloon GFR7 patrick jane, but it's not "free" if taxpayers pay for it. I assume that your dad is a taxpayer like most of us?

My town's library is funded solely by donations. I spend a lot of time there during the summer (no a/c in my house). Considering that they get no government funding, it's a pretty nice library for a small town.

Thanks for showing that it can be done.

Our library is part of the city and serves both the city and outlying areas, encompassing several smaller towns. Gets a great deal of traffic. The library sponsors free little libraries of donated books that they place in various communities encouraging people to take and to donate to them. It's been a huge success story.

That or a few hoarders are making out like bandits.

A very good way from being down and out is to change your perception. I already got my mind under control to help me achieve my goals but I heard this song the other day and it only amplified my philosophy even more. It felt like energy flowing through my veins.

Homeless persons have been known to take a dump in the back aisles of libraries and wipe with pages torn from books and periodicals. It's good to know such public service is being provided.
Why would they do that when the library has restrooms ? Do they use the pages of books for TP ?
