Let us look at Rev 17:10-11
And there are seven kings [Empires], five are fallen [existed before John’s time],
and one is [exists at the time of John], and the other [the seventh] is not yet come;
and when he cometh, he must continue a short space [for a short period of time].
And the beast that was [an Empire that existed before the time of John], and is not
[but does not exist at the time of John, not the Roman Empire],
even he is the eighth, [OTTOMAN EMPIRE]
and is of the seven and goes into perdition [destroyed].
