Planned Parenthood pushes radical sex ed on 13-year-olds with new chatbot app

January 28, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) – America’s top abortion chain is rolling out a new product meant to cut out any middleman between themselves and children searching for information and guidance about sex, contraception, and abortion: a new automated chat program to directly answer whatever questions they may have.

Roo is a “chatbot” operated by artificial intelligence and accessible via smartphones. Intended for kids between the ages of 13 and 17, it is meant to compensate for children who “don’t have access to sex education or only have access to programs that teach abstinence,” the Wall Street Journal paraphrases Planned Parenthood CEO Leana Wen as explaining.

“Roo answers all your awkward questions about sexual health, relationships, growing up, and more. Chatting with Roo is free and private, so go ahead and ask the things you don't want to ask out loud,” Planned Parenthood says on its “Ask Roo” web page. Its “answers are backed by professional health educators from Planned Parenthood,” and the chatbot “gets a little bit smarter every time you ask a question.”

Young people will flock to the service because “they’re concerned about privacy, and skeptical about anything that seems to lecture or talk down to them or sounds like parents,” added Gene Liebel, a founding partner at the tech company Work & Co. that helped develop Roo.

Users can type in their own questions or choose from a selection of frequently-asked questions. Asking “What is an abortion” results in “Abortion is a legal and safe way to end a pregnancy [...] there’s many reasons why someone may decide to have an abortion and only you can decide what is best for you.”

“What’s the right age to have sex for the first time” yields “it’s all about picking the right age for you, which might be totally different than the right age for other people. It may seem like everybody you know is having sex, but that’s definitely not true. The average age when people have sex for the first time is around 17.” It then displays an animated graphic of the phrase “you do you.”

Roo answers “When are you no longer a virgin” by claiming that while most people consider it “after the first time they have sex,” sex also “means different things to different people, so it’s up to you to decide what virginity means to you.”

Readiness to have sex is simply defined as a “big decision” that should be discussed “with a non-robot person you trust.” In response to “How do you have sex without getting pregnant,” Roo suggests various forms of birth control, but leaves out the fact that none are 100% effective.

In response to “how do I get birth control without my parents knowing,” Roo says parental permission is usually unnecessary except in certain states, and that Planned Parenthood can help teens “get started on birth control.” It accepts as a given that kids should bypass their parents, and makes no effort to suggest that teens at least consider discussing the matter with them.

and does anybody see any reason that this won't be available to children younger than 13?

i taught inner city junior high and high school for a couple years - it was so disappointing to see good, well-behaved, smart kids (girls) become pregnant, disappear for a few weeks and then come back woefully behind, always tired, unable to focus - i never knew if they recovered academically, if they ever were able to achieve what had been right in front of them, what they threw away

I don't really see much issue here, seems like a whole lot of paranoia to me.

Almost no kids are really interested about topics like birth control, aren't interested in anyone much older than them, or even care all that much about sexuality until they're at the very least 13. A fear that a bunch of 10 year olds are going to be using said app isn't founded on reason.

Anyone who is old enough to be interested in those topics can find out one way or the other. We live in an age where information flows like a sea torrent, you ought to be more concerned about the fact that a bunch of 10 year olds have smartphones in the first place.

I've seen this garbage.....the schools have become a dump our kids get to pick through. :sigh:

>Says they're trying to 'cut out the middleman'
>You give your kids cellphones that have access to basically everything

>You cancel yourself as being the middleman, and then project on others

Just wait until you learn about Drag Kids.

Things are going great, though. Just vote for Orange Bloviating Retard and everything will be ok. Well, things will still deteriorate, just not as quickly. And you won't complain with a "conservative" in the White House.

Cut and paste is often a challenge with this handheld device but I'll give it a try here's the link: https://buff.ly/313pB0w

I'm pretty open about my story. My father trafficked me from the ages of about 5 or 6 until I was a teenager. Knowing this, I can say, I was never once tied up in a dark place such as this picture. It's important for people to educate themselves on what trafficking can really look like.

Many, many times I walked into an amusement parks dressing room—Hershey, Dorney, etc.—with my father, told to wait in the stall, and a few minutes later another man came in acting like he was looking for his daughter. And that easily, a "drop" was made. Out I would walk holding his hand, nothing anyone would think twice about. Usually I'd be given something like an ice cream cone, etc.

And like me, these children are often not treated "badly." I mean, yes, they're treated awfully and violated beyond words. I mean they're are not hit, tied up, or beat up. Most of the time, they're treated with fake kindness (which really (messes) up children's trust later on in life). But they're often praised, given treats, and made to feel like what is happening is a good (and normal or because they're special.

How many vacations we went on where I was left for a minute at the pool, until a man came and I left with him for a while. Airports where I was passed over to another man in a crowd, looking like any girl going from her dad or uncle to her dad or uncle. Again, a public drop and nothing suspicious.

Most children trafficked in the US are so conditioned they don't know anything else. It's their normal. I think back as an adult and think, "Why didn't I scream out for help? Make a scene?" But I had to forgive my inner child. There was no reason I knew to scream out for help. I wasn't in danger; this was just my normal life.

Craigslist used to have a personals site that had a subsection that was thinly disguised prostitution and imbedded in that was often to be found thinly disguised child prostitution. Pretty sure that's all gone now from Craigslist. Equally sure that its existing somewhere else.

[....]This lack of knowledge is one reason that teen pregnancies are much higher in the U.S. than in many other developed countries, including Canada and the United Kingdom, where medically accurate sex ed is part of the educational curriculum in schools. In 2017, 5% of all births in the U.S. were to teen mothers.

Is sex education a bad thing to you?

And how many of those teen mothers were adults?

The metric that would be of more interest to me is how many births in the US are to unwed mothers of any age.

A growing community of pedophiles is sweeping social media. They’re rebranding themselves as “MAPs” or “minor-attracted people” in an attempt to sound more socially acceptable, and social media sites are doing absolutely nothing about it.

“MAP pride” is a movement that appeared on underground social media site Tumblr, a site primarily used by teenagers, in the mid-2010s. In this movement, the mostly anonymous “MAPs” share their desire for pedophilia to be normalized and accepted as a sexual orientation akin to the LGBT community. They have even designed their own flag. Posters often complain about the “prejudice” and “oppression” they face from being so open about their attractions online. The movement has since spread onto more mainstream social media sites — predominantly Twitter.
The mostly anonymous “MAPs” share their desire for pedophilia to be normalized and accepted as a sexual orientation.

Pedophile Communities Are Gaining Traction Online

Such virtuous sounding language is something that children could be easily taken in by, should they come across this community. Disturbingly, many “MAP” accounts appear to have children's cartoon characters as their profile pictures, and in the past year, there has been a surge of minor accounts claiming to be “MAP allies” on Twitter.

The dangers of pedophiles on the internet are obvious, but why is a community of them even worse? “MAP” accounts are seemingly split between “pro-contact” and “not pro-contact” depending on whether the individuals are for or against abusing children. While the latter claim that the community acts as a “support group” and lowers their risk of abuse, research suggests that when pedophiles network they become more likely to offend due to communal validation and the obvious opportunity to create a trafficking or porn ring.
Research suggests that when pedophiles network they become more likely to offend due to communal validation.

And that’s exactly what’s happening. Some Twitter accounts are openly sharing inappropriate images of children, and others have child porn advertised for sale in their bios. Terrifyingly, some users even have prices listed on their pages for the sale of children.

What Twitter Does and Doesn’t Do about It

Twitter claims to have a “zero-tolerance child exploitation policy,” but it updated this policy in 2019 to allow the “discussion” of attraction towards minors. Many users of the site have called the update contradictory and incompatible with the policy, which also says that any content “promoting or depicting” child sexual exploitation is not permitted. This clearly isn't working; in 2019, the Internet Watch Foundation found that almost 50% of child abuse material it found publicly online came from Twitter.

The increasing brazenness of people who once hid in the shadows, and Twitter's unwillingness to de-platform them, leads to a worrying question: Is the culture of extreme political correctness enabling pedophilia pride? In a world where opposing any belief or inclination, no matter how awful, is ruled as discriminatory — is this the inevitable outcome? The treatment of people who oppose these communities further speaks to this theory.
Twitter updated its policy in 2019 to allow the “discussion” of attraction towards minors.

The self-proclaimed “MAP police” are pages dedicated to seeking out these accounts and sending their followers to mass report them to Twitter. Accounts rarely seem to get taken down, however. Moreover, those who expose and take issue with the community often end up having their own pages suspended for “hateful conduct.” Some “police” pages do report the accounts to the real police, but, unfortunately, the problem is just too big. And without an appropriate response from the platform itself, it’s only going to get bigger.

Closing Thoughts

Twitter is protecting pedophiles. The fact that there appears to be no algorithm in place to automatically remove child abuse content is shocking. What’s even worse is that moderators reviewing complaints seem to be actively choosing to not do anything about it. Twitter needs to amend its policy change, make clear what’s unacceptable, and enforce it. Urge Twitter to take action by emailing its executives through the National Center on Sexual Exploitation’s website here.

Anyone paying attention has seen this coming for several years.

Any specific proposals being debated on this subject in D.C.?

Else, it sounds like slippery-slope fear mongering to me.

The video supports a psycological, rational approach to pedophilia as apposed to an emotional/violent one. Take a listen.
