High Gas Prices? Putin and Trump Did That!

Republicans cannot remember that gas prices have a lot of causes outside President Biden's control.
Sure they do

Republicans also remember that gas prices have a lot of causes directly related to actions from Joe the Rapist.
Why bother to explain that to them, though? They won't listen.
Why should they listen when they have a narrative that Joe Biden is intentionally driving up gas prices to satisfy the extreme environmentalists on his extreme left wing? 😂

How unfortunate for democrats that Biden looks like the guy who could not control gas prices like Trump could.

The extreme, insane left will hate him for not causing prices to continue going up.
The bulk of the Democrats will hate him for making them poor.

When you factor in our country’s high-income levels and wealth relative to the price of gas, the United States has the fourth-highest gasoline affordability rating on the globe (that is, one gallon of gas costs only a tiny fraction of our average daily income).

And just in case you were wondering, the countries with the most expensive gas prices are generally in Europe, with Finland, Denmark and Norway all charging around $10.00 per gallon. Hong Kong tops the list, though, at a whopping $11.45 per gallon!

I see you're temp-banned. I guess having as many as five members at any one here was just too much of a crowd. 😐

You’d think after achieving $5 a gallon nationwide gas prices and gutting domestic oil and gas producers, America’s environmental extremists would be elated and emboldened. But President Joe Biden’s energy policy is so incoherent, even Green New Deal socialists are frustrated, according to reporting by Politico’s Zack Colman.

“The climate advocates who cheered President Joe Biden’s arrival at the White House last year are preparing to give up on Washington,”

The following should be part of every Republican campaign ad leading up to November 7th:

The Biden administration’s destructive energy goals aren’t even subtle. Mark Mazur, who left the Treasury Department in September, said the quiet part out loud, as Bloomberg reported: “We don’t want lower prices for fossil-fuel buyers. We prefer higher prices,”

Gas prices jumped more than $3/gallon under Biden and then democrats praise Biden when the prices fall back down 4 or 5 cents a gallon. How stupid is that?
The question is, why have gas prices gone up $3/gallon over the past couple of years?

This thread is proof of that. The current high price of gas is the main talking point of the Republicans going into the 2022 midterm elections. They can't afford to have the price of gas go down between now and then. If it does, Republicans will be forced to run on their other main vote-getter--forcing 10-year-old rape victims to carry their pregnancies to term.

That and overall inflation, which also can't be explained away by a stupid Biden sticker or meme. They need to foment fear, because fear gets out the base, and what they've done during Biden's term is do what McConnell promised he'd do. Obstruct, obstruct, obstruct - and then blame Biden. Then there's the always reliably ready to muck everything up Joe Manchin, and the hand-wringing Susan Collins.

As for the 10-year-old rape victim, I am pro-life with exceptions, and that is an exception. Most Americans, even Republicans, agree. I've always said Republicans would never legislate to end abortion because it was their bread and butter - money and votes. I think they've been blindsided by the Supreme Court on this issue and it will come back to bite them in 22 and 24.

Inflation is global and largely the consequence of the pandemic shutdowns and related stresses--thank Trump for that. The current inflation is also caused by the Fed keeping interest rates low for too long:

Fed Chair Jerome Powell was a chief proponent early on of the idea that the price hikes would be “transitory” and ease more quickly as supply chain problems got fixed and more people went back to work. Biden and the White House adopted that term as well before having to ditch it. Because inflation has turned out to be longer-lasting, the Fed had to quickly shift gears in December and say it would pull back its highly stimulative policies.

There's a lot of info out there about how corporations have taken advantage of the situation by blaming inflation for keeping their prices higher than they needed to be, while raking in record profits. I'd point out too that trying to predict a pandemic has been a thankless job for many.

Here are some causes for the spike in gas prices and inflation I have heard from questionable sources:

It is Putin's fault
It is the oil companies' fault
It is the fault of the gas station owners
It is Trump's fault
It is supply and demand
It is the greed of the rich and the racist white man
And so forth.

I can only guess what democrats must be thinking, if they think at all, or planning , if they plan at all, about fixing the problem which developed rapidly after Biden moved into the WH.

Here must be some of the logical cures being floated among those who think the above causes are destroying the poor and struggling wage earner in America:

Bomb Russia into submission
Have the government take over the oil companies like Chavez did in Venezuela
Establish and enforce price and profit caps on gas stations
Send Trump to prison
Take over the free market and establish a government-controlled market system like communism
Rob the rich and give their wealth to the down and out who cannot or will not work for one reason or another
Force the white man to pay the black and poor reparations due them for slavery of hundreds of years ago.

Ammiright?

Idiots think high gas prices are just a tool the republicans designed and invented to get back at Biden for winning the popular vote in 2020, but that is idiocy.

Unbelievable. Lefties accusing republicans of obstruction, fear-mongering, and destroying the economy? One of the worse ways to fix a problem getting out of hand is to give charge to the idiots who caused the problem the responsibility of fixing the problem by doubling down on the bad policies that caused the problem to begin with.

The mother of the 10-year-old victim claims the government is lying about the girl and her alleged rapist. That is not surprising since there is a real possibility the whole narrative was a lie, to begin with, invented by wicked democrats in an effort to sway public opinion against SCOTUS for turning the issue of abortion back to the states and the American people to decide for themselves.

Low interest rates caused low gas prices? So why not keep interest rates low if that will give massive relief to the poor? Why raise interest rates if that will increase heavy burdens on the poor with high gas prices, high food costs, huge increases in the cost of living, and a huge decrease in access to borrowing at the bank?

Lefties blame the rich and the businessmen for problems caused by leftist socialist policies, but lefties lie. Government control or takeover of businesses destroys economies, as people should have learned in Russia and Venezuela, if not elsewhere. And democrats do not tax the rich. They just say that to fool the gullible into voting for them. Obama had total control of power in DC during his first term and he did nothing in terms of 'taxing the rich' as you would expect. Besides, the rich, both democrat and republican, know how to protect their money from taxation in ways the poor have no access to.

Just a few days ago Bill Gates announced he is leaving his tens of billions in tax-free wealth to his tax-exempt corporation when he dies. His wealth is already secured in his personal tax-exempt corporation, as is Hillary's is in her Clinton Foundation, and as are the trillions of untouchable wealth secured in other people's (like George Soros') personal tax-exempt foundations.

The U.S. fossil fuel industry has dramatically ramped up exports of oil and natural gas in recent years, seeking to profit on the international market and keep prices high at home. The 2015 repeal of a 40-year-old ban on most crude oil exports and the construction of natural gas export terminals on the Gulf Coast has allowed the industry to maximize exports and rake in extraordinary profits while consumers and the climate pay the price.

A Public Citizen analysis of U.S. Energy Information Administration data found that:

  • For crude oil, about 29% of U.S. production in the first six months of 2022 was exported. That is more than double the 12% exported in 2017 and quadruple the 7% exported in 2016, the first full year of unrestricted crude oil exports. In the first six months of 2022, 3.4 million barrels per day of crude oil were exported from the U.S., nearly three times as much as in 2017, when about 1.2 million barrels per day were exported.
  • For natural gas, more than 20% of U.S. production in the first six months of 2022 was exported. That was up from 11.5% in 2017 and 6.6% in 2015. An average of nearly 591 billion cubic feet of natural gas per month―including 336 billion cubic feet of liquefied natural gas―was exported from the U.S. in the first six months of 2022. Total natural gas exports in 2022 were more than double 2017 levels.
  • In pushing to lift the crude oil export ban in 2015, the fossil fuel industry greatly oversold the purported consumer benefits. Unregulated exports have left U.S. consumers even more exposed to volatile global energy markets.
  • Unprecedented exports of natural gas contribute directly to soaring U.S. natural gas prices tying the prices families in the U.S. pay for heating their homes to global calamities. Natural gas exports have radically upended domestic energy markets and are the primary factor in record price increases for both natural gas and electricity, fueling higher levels of energy poverty and unleashing energy insecurity for tens of millions of American households.
