High Gas Prices? Putin and Trump Did That!

Back in 2020 when oil prices were dirt cheap, Trump called up his buddy, Prince Mohammed Bin Salman of Saudi Arabia, and essentially threatened that if MBS didn’t cut production (and thus raise worldwide oil prices, which would help out Putin and US petrobillionaires) the United States would reconsider its seven-decade-long military support for the kingdom.

Thus, in the last year of his presidency, Trump oversaw the worldwide cuts in oil production that would lead to today’s prices soaring well past $130 a barrel.

Then Putin invaded Ukraine, both of which are major producers of oil, thus driving the price up even higher:

Obama started the mess by shutting down coal for the benefit of his Muslim OPEC friends.
Nope, wrong again as you so often are. Coal is in decline largely because American electricity producers have switched to cheaper, cleaner-burning natural gas to produce electricity:

The decline of U.S. coal production in 2020 was largely the result of less demand for coal internationally and less U.S. electric power sector demand for coal. Lower natural gas prices made coal less competitive for power generation. U.S. coal-fired generation fell 20% from 2019.

Democrat-driven government regulations have had the effect of shutting down nuclear plants and coal plants whether by design or unintentionally. Biden's shuttering of gas and oil production has had the effect of raising gas prices in the US whether that was his intention or not.

You seem to be unable to understand that natural gas is cheaper, more plentiful, and less polluting than coal, which is why energy companies have switched to burning natural gas rather than coal in order to produce electricity throughout the country, and that is why the coal industry is in decline. What part of that don't you understand?

The US government is grinding down fossil fuel mining and distribution in America and that is causing the price of gas at the opumpto skyrocket. Those who cannot understand that fact are mentally challenged.

Except it didn't and it isn't.
Biden is causing the problem he does not know is a problem, does not know what caused the problem, and does not know how to fix the problem.
But one thing he always seems to know is that he is not responsible for causing the problem and it is not his job tyo fix the problem he does not know needs fixing.

Biden was already driving US gas prices heavenward before he and his Russian pal paved the way for Russia to invade Ukraine.

Oh really? How so? I'm pretty sure Biden was and is doing all we can to get Russia out of Ukraine. It was Trump who enabled Putin throughout his entire presidency and vice versa. Now that Trump is out, Putin's man is no longer of service to him, so Putin decided to go ahead and invade Ukraine. Trump did as much damage as he could do.

Where does Putin's invasion of Ukraine fall on this list?

Also, does it answer the question about why it is that domestic oil production is at 2018 levels but isn't at 2018 prices?

It doesn't except in the sense that Biden has wagged the Russian dog tail to try to deflect blame for his own abominable failures.

It doesn't? Oh, so it's just a political hit-piece designed to smear Biden that ignores the main reasons why gas prices are as high as they are now? Got it.

Biden's actions have caused Putin to reap windfall profits from his carbon energy exports.

I just hope 10% is going to the big guy. 😁
