ECT Do those who believe MAD have no problem disregarding what Jesus actually taught ?

Back to the original question of this thread. Christ definitely distinguished between Jews and Gentiles in Matthew 10:5, when He told the 12 not to go unto the way of the Gentiles, but to rather go to the House of Israel. Also, in Matthew 15:24, He says He is only sent to the lost sheep of the House of Israel.

I did not "leave" the OP!!! There is a mission-recruitment reason why he said those things, and glaring examples are smack in the middle of them anyway! He was cultivating missionaries to the nations to have them ready by Pentecost.

That is the objective and destiny and legacy and meaning of Israel according to the sermon in Acts 13.

OK, so let me detangle this mess. Thanks to STP's post here, we finally can.

1, they were not going to be saved through the rise of a theocratic kingdom on earth state. Salvation is 'through the Jews' because it is through Christ. The being saved through the Jews was true because Israel was to have launched the mission of God to the nations with Christ's message, not fight a messianic revolt in hopeless odds with bogus claims of God's special help for Israel in such a fight.

2, They fell. That's the revolt!!! These MAD people led by Feldictators and Danoh won't touch 1st century history and actually see what happened. They are blind leading blind.

Actually we should say, they 'fell away' for that is the language of Paul in Thessalonians about what would happen there in Judea and at that time. It is not about our times, even if other events down through the church's history replicate it. Israel is just going to be that way, always heaping up their sins. The true Israel is going to be saved 'in this manner': with the ethne always heaping up its sins, and only the remnant understanding, along with the believers from nations who are unified in the same one Gospel and belief that Christ is the Lord of Ps 2. There is is no fixing that, there is no golden age, there is no restored age, and certainly nothing that compensates for previous generations of Israel failing.

They always were meant to be missionaries to the nations when Christ arrived. That's why he had 221, at least, ready by the time of Pentecost, and why the middle of Rom 10 has its string of questions about Israel in the mission of God.

No, moron; their stumbling was their rejection of and Crucifixion of Christ in Matt. - John.

Their fall was their having continued in that stumble after He rose again, and sent the Spirit.

At which point Israel then committed the one sin the Lord had warned them would not be forgiven them - they then began to speak against the Spirit's offer of forgiveness of their having Crucified the Christ.

Matthew 10:18 And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles. 10:19 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. 10:20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.

Matthew 12:28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.

12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. 12:32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

Acts 7:51 Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye. 7:52 Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers: 7:53 Who have received the law by the disposition of angels, and have not kept it.

And they continued in the height of THIS rebellion, you incompetent...

Acts 13:45 But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming. 13:46 Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.

That, you Preterist nutjob, is what the following is referring to...

1 Thessalonians 2:13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe. 2:14 For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews: 2:15 Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men: 2:16 Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.

All that is the issue of a spiritual rebellion "against the Lord and His Christ" - it is - NOT - their political rebellion against Rome.

This here, you fraud...

Acts 4:1 And as they spake unto the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees, came upon them, 4:2 Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead. 4:3 And they laid hands on them, and put them in hold unto the next day: for it was now eventide. 4:4 Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand. 4:5 And it came to pass on the morrow, that their rulers, and elders, and scribes, 4:6 And Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem. 4:7 And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this? 4:8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel, 4:9 If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole; 4:10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. 4:11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. 4:13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus. 4:14 And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it. 4:15 But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves, 4:16 Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it. 4:17 But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name. 4:18 And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. 4:19 But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye. 4:20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard. 4:21 So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done. 4:22 For the man was above forty years old, on whom this miracle of healing was shewed. 4:23 And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them. 4:24 And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is: 4:25 Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things? 4:26 The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ. 4:27 For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together, 4:28 For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done. 4:29 And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, 4:30 By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus. 4:31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness. 4:32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common. 4:33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.

The rebellion in question was against the Spirit, when He continued where the Lord had left off...

They filled up their sins (REACHED the HEIGHT of their sins against ALL three members of The Godhead) WHEN they resisted The SPIRIT in that they had previously resisted the Father in their having resisted/spoken against His Prophets even killing some; THEN they resisted/spoke against the Son; followed by their killing Him also; FOLLOWED BY their resisting/speaking against the Spirit; killing some of His witnesses.

You might want to actually think before you slander whom God has chosen ! You know the natural tree you were grafted into.

YOU will Never find Paul trashing Israel ! That is uniquely A Madist conceit.

Rom 11:24
For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree?

Rom 11:25
For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

Rom 11:26
And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

Rom 11:27
For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.

Steko, good morning.

I cannot make that leap because I believe Jesus' teachings are not only for Israel but for our benefit and spiritual growth for today.

Do some of His teachings apply to Israel of course ,but I see no benefit in throwing the baby out with the used bath water.

Have a blessed day !

If one believes that there is a people existing today or in the future called Israel, which is not the Church the Body of Christ and exists in continuity with the people that GOD delivered out of bondage from Egypt, then, that person is in some degree dispensational.

Fact- Jesus said, "he who blasphemes against Holy Spirit, never has forgiveness, as it is an eternal sin".
There's no forgiveness for this sin in any age. Thats is as plain as you can get it. And yet madists don't like it, so they deny the words of Jesus for the sake of their warpped views.

Persecution of Jesus and Christians is not blasphemy. All blasphemies against the son of man will be forgiven.
1 Timothy 1:13 Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

1 Timothy 1:14 And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

1 Timothy 1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

1 Timothy 1:16 Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

Show me ONE scripture where Jesus EVER made a distinction in His message between Gentiles and Jews that pertains to salvation or taught 2 gospels. I do not believe it exists.

" taught 2 gospels."

Clueless as to what the term "gospel" means, as if it is a birthday present.

good news

Get it?

You:No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!There is not more than 1 piecer of good news in the bible!!!!! There is just one piece of good news!!!!!Wah, wah, wah, wah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the heart of the Gospel message, and when Christ's church practices the sacrament of baptism, they repeat and manifest this good news before the eyes of the world.

Our Christian baptism is our witness to the one Gospel message that has the power to save.

What a mess...Father, must I get into the ditch, with this Calvinist/Clavinist dolt? Very well....

"witness to the world ....testimony...symbol " and all that jazz..

To those who agree that water baptism does not save, but it should be practiced as a " testimony", a "witness to the world" of our salvation, I ask:

Where was the lost "world"(or anyone, for that matter) in the 3 most notable baptisms in the book of Acts? Who was present in Acts 8 when the Ethiopian eunuch was baptized, except Philip? Just the chariot driver? Who was present when Saul(Paul) was baptized in Acts 9? Only Anias? Who was present when the Philippian jailor was baptized in Acts 16? Only his family? Nowhere in scripture will you find any verse that tells of water baptism as a testimony to "the world", lost or saved.

From a sensical point of view, would not the water ritual be a rather poor method to witness to the lost of your salvation? Just how is a sopping wet person a testimony to 1 Cor. 15:1-4 KJV, Eph. 2:8-9 KJV............? A witness has a testimony, i.e., he/she speaks or writes of what has taken place. And just how does wet clothes, wet hair.....do that?

And how is a ceremony, that is, in most cases, performed within the walls of a church building, with mostly believers present, not the lost, effective as a testimony to the lost, i.e., most of the audience is saved! If those that contend that it should be done as a testimony to the lost, then, if they were intellectually honest, then they would go down to the nearest stream/lake/pond and start "dunking away" until the tadpoles knew their social security number.

The basic idea behind the concept of baptism is identification=placing or putting something into another substance, performing an action, with the resulting purpose of a change in the state of the item from its previous condition=change in identity, change in condition, change in status.

Symbol? No one was buried in water. The Lord Jesus Christ was not buried in a liquid grave, but in rocks, and buried when dead. In contrast, the "dry baptismal" candidate is buried as soon as he has received life!

Yes, we are baptized with the Holy Spirit upon regeneration, but that baptism is invisible. We witness to the eyes of the world that we identify with the life and death of Jesus Christ, through the practice of water baptism, in obedienced to Christ's instructions.

Cuts and pastes out of the context of Holy Scripture in order to change the teaching of Holy Scripture, is a terrible sin. Shame on you for daring to alter God's Word, only to sell a lie.

Very bad stuff, folks!

"Baptism is the outward symbol seen by man....." and all that jazz.

"Traditional" Christianity has it backward, since they refuse to rightly divide this word of truth. After being justified by being baptized into Christ, and being new creatures in Christ, with eternal life, having been raised, ascended, and seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus(up), "religion" wants to "bury" you(down) you under the element of water , which, as part of the earth, is under a curse, by being dunked until the tadpoles know your social security number.

Water baptism, throughout the OT/NT, was never viewed as "Death/Burial/ & Resurrection."

No, but to be obedient to Jesus anyone that names His name will do as He commanded .

Fine. Sell all you have. Show yourself to a Levitical priest, and off er the gift Moses commanded, according to the law.

Do it.

Fraud. Sophistry,as the dodger knows He does not obey the Saviour, will not "be obedient to Jesus," as in Matthew-John.

You ignore most "every teaching of Jesus."

He also taught to sell all you have.

Why do you ignore it, dodge it?
