AAn 11-year-old Tennessee boy has been charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of an 8-year-old neighbor girl.

The Jefferson County sheriff said the boy, whose name has not been released, used his father’s 12-gauge single-shot shotgun to kill his next-door neighbor, McKayla Dyer.

The girl had been outside playing about 7:30 p.m. Saturday when the older boy asked to see her puppy, but she told him no, said Latasha Dyer, the girl’s mother.

She said the boy, who had bullied her daughter since moving to the mobile home park in White Pine, went home to get the shotgun and then shot her daughter in the chest.

Gun owners should be required to own child-proof gun storage safes. Your example here seems like a very rare occurrence and if the child was willing to kill over the puppy then do you really think that not having a gun handy would've stopped this? There are knives in the kitchen, perhaps a hammer in the garage. This is just bad parenting and also carelessness in proper weapon storage. The parents of the "bully" child should be prosecuted

Just to clarify this just isn't a dig at the states, or about gun law.

Its about gun culture, but its also about the dis-attachment with parenting values and decency that goes across the entirety of western culture.

Recently a British soldier had his head sawed off by a devout Muslim in broad daylight on a public street in front of dozens of the soldier's fellow citizens. Had they even been willing to try to stop it, they were utterly unable barring stabbing him themselves or rushing him en masse. Instead, he proudly held up bloody hands to the ever-waiting cameras and preached Islam to the dumbfounded kaffirs as the soldier's blood pooled on the pavement, his head separated from his body.

In many areas of the U.S. there'd have been at least a chance someone with CC could have dropped him on the spot, perhaps while the soldier was only still stabbed and not yet decapitated. But in the U.K. - where law-abiding citizens are the most disarmed citizens - there is zero chance of that happening.

Now TOL's idiot leftist drones want that same setup imposed on the U.S.

You talk about one incident over 2 year ago, since that point 15,000 Americans have been murdered with guns, add to that all of the a accidents and incidents.
