Atheist-Atheos

Amoral= without morals
Asexual= without discernable sex or genderless.
Atheist= without Theos.

The word atheist is used once in scripture and is translated as, ‘’without Elohim’’. The fact a person is without Elohim is because Elohim has not called him to salvation. It’s not a decision or choice a person makes, but the sovereign will of the Eternal Almighty to leave that person in sin and for destruction.
The Almighty is glorified in both the destruction of sinners (thou shalt surely die) and the salvation of sinners (shall have eternal life).

The boast of a person who is as deluded to think they have made a choice is laughable.

The boast of an atheist is they have decided that there is no God or have rejected belief in God. That the Eternal Almighty creator and sustainer of life does not exist.
And then we have:

‘’Because that which may be known of Elohim is manifest in them: for Elohim hath shown it unto them.
For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, clearly seen being understood by the things that are made, both his eternal power and Divinity; so that they are inexcusable’’.

What has happened over the years is the true meaning of atheist has been ignored and the atheist has raised himself onto the lofty pedestal of free will along with the Arminian.
The Arminian declares his will being free to allow him to seek, choose and obtain salvation.
While the atheist declares his sovereign decision in denying the existence of Deity.

Atheist means without Theos / without God / without Elohim. Just as amoral means without morals.
The question must be asked, why is the person who declares himself atheist, without Elohim? Is it because the power of the atheist is greater than that of the Almighty? Or is it because the Almighty has left the person without saving grace, without saving knowledge and without trust? It is of course the latter.

The boast of the atheist that there is no Elohim is as empty as an old husk, because the word atheist means something completely different to what they have been taught. The atheist is without Theos, because they have been left in that state.

atheist (n.) Look up atheist at Dictionary.com
1570s, from French athéiste (16c.), from Greek atheos "without god, denying the gods; abandoned of the gods; godless, ungodly," from a- "without" + theos "a god"
The existence of a world without God seems to me less absurd than the presence of a God, existing in all his perfection, creating an imperfect man in order to make him run the risk of Hell. [Armand Salacrou, "Certitudes et incertitudes," 1943]

The word 'atheist' was not used in scriptures, being a recent invention. What was used was a term that has recently been translated into 'atheist', so it is hard to deduce the meaning of the modern word by presenting quotes about a different term from a different language.

The word atheist is used once in the scriptures by Paul and the English translation conveys atheist exactly as it should.

PS just added you to my ignore list as you make unfounded statements.

The word 'atheist' is not even 500 years old, so you are mistaken that Paul could have used it. (Paul was not really Paul, either, but Paulos or Παῦλος. But that is another thing entirely. Interesting fact: Paul wrote to the Romans, but the Romans thought of Christians as atheists. Now there is context.)

PS just added you to my ignore list as you make unfounded statements.

Great - I'm not really responding to you, but to others that might read what you post. So you ignoring me will help. Thanks.

Salvation is our choice. Through Moses God said choose life or choose death.

I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live. (Deuteronomy 30:19 NKJV)

That was an invitation to the nation of Yisra'El under law and not an invitation to individuals.Hence the mention of the descendants of the nation.

Try reading verse 20.

Try reading verse 20.

It was an individual choice that affected the family of each individual. The soul that sins, it shall die, but in the obsolete Mosaic law no one could die for another's sins.

The word atheos (an adjective only, the noun was atheoi I think) was used to describe those without belief in the god believed by society, so it didn't mean the same thing as the word atheist does today in English, which means those who reject all gods, and can be used as a noun as well as an adjective.

It is always risky to try to use the etymology of a word to define its modern day meaning. You are writing in English, so should use the English definitions - the Bible authors did not use the modern English word, so the modern usage should not be ascribed to them.

The OT has something like that :

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.
Psalm 53:1

A theist is a person who believes in a god while an atheist is without that belief, but it doesn't follow that an atheist has therefore decided that there is no God since most are also agnostic, as I am. I am willing to be convinced of God's existence at any time but it would require more than some ancient scripture and evidence free assertions.

He just can't accept that Paul used the term in one of his Epistles. His problem, not mine.

This denys freewill. Are you making this claim?

"The boast of a person who is as deluded to think they have made a choice is laughable."

If so, then the atheist is no more a fool than the believer ....righteous.
