ECT Abraham's Covenant as a Gentile

Actually I despise it because it is not there in Acts. The news of a change of dispensation dates back to the exile, or warnings of the exile. The new dispensation was the comfort for Israel expressed in Is 40.

The label preterist usually means the bizarre belief that the 2nd coming of Christ was in the event of the 1st century destruction of Jerusalem. I do not.

Yours is as much a hybrid of Preterism and your own, further reading INTO things, as the hybrid some on here continue to assert is Mid-Acts :chuckle:

Yeah, plenty of verses about Gentile nations flocking to the Lord during the exaltation and restoration of Israel.
So that would be of no surprise, since it was prophesied.

That exaltation was the Gospel, also. You simply don't realize how complete an event it was. It was the fulfillment of everything promised to Israel, rolling over into the mission found in Acts that continues today.

It was never going to be about a golden age monarchy for Israel, and the opposite took place in the generation following Jesus.

There is the point: even though the utter opposite took place, the destiny of Israel was being reached in which it was a light to all nations. They and we get to be the light to the nations in Christ, Acts 13:47. By entering into his message. It was never going to be about a rejuvenated monarchy worshipping as in Judaism.

The fact of reaching the destiny which Israel was supposed to become by faith AT THE SAME TIME as the total destruction of the country is rooted in Dan 9 and the answer to Daniel's prayer.
