A missing Link to Genesis 1:6 God said, “I command a dome to separate the water above it from the water below it.”

You didn't really answer the question, but I appreciate the response. What about the above revised version of Genesis 1 doesn't indicate that there's a structure to the creation? That there isn't a limit to it? What about it doesn't distinguish, but rather, conflates, the two main spatial...

BETTER YET! Why not just use "the firmament" once, in verse 6, and then since, if what you assert is true, there is only one firmament, use "the firmament of the heavens" the other 8 of 9 times? AND EVEN BETTER! Why not just use ONLY "the firmament," why the need to distinguish "the firmament...

Derf, it seems like you didn't bother to read through what I wrote before responding, like I asked, as you missed at least one direct question that you did not answer, nor did you pay much attention to the images that I posted, because you say some things that make no sense in the context of...

A missing Link to Genesis 1:6 God said, “I command a dome to separate the water above it from the water below it.”

@Derf The real question here, regarding your position, is this: Why did Moses, instead of what is recorded in Genesis 1, not write the chapter this way? In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And...

I don't remember if I had said anything else above this, after the image, so I'll just add this here and be done with it. [begin insert] NO, Derf! He is NOT talking about the trunk of the car! Do you not know what a trunk is?! This is a trunk! They are the reason...... [end insert]

Ugh, it appears I forgot to copy a portion of my response back into the editor here before posting. Let me type up the portion missing. It goes after the image and before the text here:

Derf, this post is REALLY REALLY LONG. So please, read completely through it first before responding. Otherwise you may not get to the crucial points. Again, the firmament, NOT "of the heavens," but the one in the midst of the waters, was called heaven. You can't form something from an...

No one has added anything, BR. No one has changed God's words. And if we had done either, it WOULD NOT BE OKAY! Revelation has nothing to do with this topic. Last warning. If all you are going to do is hurl straw man arguments against people here in this thread and/or subforum, you will be...

Bladerunner does not believe the WORD of GOD. Bladerunner is an athiest. .... See how easy that was? Anyone can make false claims as though they were true, but it doesn't make them true! Dr. Walt Brown is most definitely NOT an athiest! He literally based His entire theory ON THE BIBLE...

A missing Link to Genesis 1:6 God said, “I command a dome to separate the water above it from the water below it.”

Incorrect. "Firmament" is used exactly nine times in Genesis 1: The FIRST FIVE are simply "firmament." - a "firmament" in the midst of the waters - god made the "firmament" - waters under the "firmament" - waters above the "firmament" - God called the "firmament" Heaven The LAST FOUR uses are...

See https://kgov.com/peleg Just because you disagree with his theory doesn't mean he rejects God or His word, BR. Rather, the HPT gives us insight into what that passage might actually mean.

We've never left that part out. I seem to recall trying to convince you of that fact a while back. The firmament God made in the midst of the waters the Spirit of God was hovering over in verse two is the crust of the earth. That firmament was called heaven. God did not specifically make a...

    Our Moral God

You're gone now, but I'm going to address this anyways, for future reference: You're the one who claimed that we couldn't trust the Bible as it was originally written, and that your cult somehow magically now has the corrected one. That makes God a deity of deception, because He intentionally...

Yes. What are these "Trinity translations" you speak of? I'm not aware of anyone appealing to a single council teaching in this current discussion. And you just so happen to be willing to condescend to us to tell us about it? Jehovah's Witnesses are not Christian, despite their claims...

    Our Moral God

There's an even bigger problem, specifically regarding this. God cannot be viewed as a "deity of deception," otherwise He would, rationally speaking, be no different than a "demon of deception." This video is worth a listen, yes, even being over 3 hours long.

A missing Link to Genesis 1:6 God said, “I command a dome to separate the water above it from the water below it.”

It's not confusing at all. The "firmament" is the crust. The "firmament of the heavens" is the sky. There is a clear delineation between the two in the text by the use of the phrase "of the heavens."
