What Happens in Purgatory? Tim Staples

So you need the death and resurrection of Jesus, plus fire, to be made pleasing unto the Lord? Jesus' death alone was sufficient for me.

What Happens in Purgatory? Tim Staples

Why wait till after you are dead? Turn from sin now, and get reborn with a new nature.

What Happens in Purgatory? Tim Staples

Hoping I commit sin is a wish of the devil. Why would you serve satan that way?

What Happens in Purgatory? Tim Staples

1 John 1:8 isn't addressed to those who walk in the light, God. It is addressed to those who walk in darkness, sin. (Pro 4:19) 1 John 1:7 is though..."But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from...

Mortal sin, free will, and going to Communion

He died so we can be reborn. Those reborn of God's seed are free of that which appeals to the sons of Adam. It is written..."And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts." (Gal 5:24) I equate all false "churches" with death. But life is out here when you...

What Happens in Purgatory? Tim Staples

That is a rather devilish hope. I usually start with the availability of freedom from vice, and if the audience is interested will proceed to the words of Peter in Acts 2:38. I have brought the interested to church. And "being a Christian" certainly doesn't include sinning. Sin is something the...

Mortal sin, free will, and going to Communion

Every one gets to say what they think. As the two are so far apart, I don't feel Jesus, or His doctrine, can be impugned by the truth concerning a false "church" or false doctrine. Amen to that, and if accomplished, by the grace of God, purgatory is superfluous. I have been freed from your...

What Happens in Purgatory? Tim Staples

Find me a catholic that doesn't commit sin. Now days I tend to concentrate on my experiences since being made free.

Mortal sin, free will, and going to Communion

Call it what you wish. But the capitalization makes it appear idolatrous. So after how many years of your religion have you not yet received the knowledge of the truth? (Heb 10:26) I haven't yet while I write on purity, freedom, and holiness. I am glad you are at least aware of "worry about...

I'm not even a photographer and I can tell that was a double-image or something.

Mortal sin, free will, and going to Communion

It may have been the odor of your false doctrines that made you think of fish. It sure is, and I thank God for blameless, married, men, to hold the office.

What Happens in Purgatory? Tim Staples

I would call it a cure and not a remedy, so after one is "in Christ" there is no way one can still commit sin ? That is almost funny !!! But so sad...

What Happens in Purgatory? Tim Staples

Would that be the truth Jesus said would free us from committing sin? It is written..."And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. 33 They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? 34 Jesus answered them...

Does man naturally have ability to Seek God ?

And...all those going to hell will be able to blame God. That will be small consolation to those who God denies salvation to during their lives.

    Doctrine of Unconditional Election

You have the horse pushing the cart. Faith cometh by hearing, hearing from one with the gospel. According to you, neither hearing nor faith are necessary for salvation. "God just picks us at random." as per your POV

Mortal sin, free will, and going to Communion

There was nothing to answer. Just false doctrine. Show me the word "mass" in the bible. I don't argue against doing the Lord's supper at all, just your POV that it must be done on a certain day of the week. Seems sorta Pharisaical to me. No thanks. I spent enough of my life under those who are...

What Happens in Purgatory? Tim Staples

By supplying a constant remedy for sin, the initial Remedy for sin is pushed to the side and forgotten. You don't thank God for freedom from sin, you thank your "church" for confession. Yes, if you mean free of sin. It doesn't matter. Point out the scripture you refer to.

Does man naturally have ability to Seek God ?

Your sentenced refuted itself. "He doesn't, then He does".???

Does man naturally have ability to Seek God ?

Yep, God made it possible for us to turn from sin and unto Him. I thank God for the gifts of repentance from sin, water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of past sins, and the gift of the Holy Ghost that keeps me on the straight and narrow. And I thank Him for His word.

What Happens in Purgatory? Tim Staples

The entire idea of a purgatory is an accommodation for ongoing sin. Paul wrote..."Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame." (1 Cor 15:34)
