Jesus was being consistent with Mosaic Law,
No kidding... Jesus kept the law and taught Israel to do the same.
but this verse tells us nothing about what Jesus was teaching, but these verses do:
Of course it does! Jesus told the young man that keeping the law is how to gain eternal life.
Matthew 19:21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. 22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
Jesus told ALL of the disciples to sell all that they had. Are you unaware of this?
Luke 12:33 (AKJV/PCE)
(12:33) Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.
This is why Peter could said this:
Matt 19:27 (AKJV/PCE)
(19:27) ¶ Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?
Do you know WHY they were told to do that?
There was no special need for Paul as concerns the Gospels message.
Poor ignorant Dave. Paul had a unique gospel, the gospel of the grace of God. It is found ONLY in Paul's epistles. Without Paul, it cannot be found in scripture.
Paul was not a prototype, he was an example just as other were who were sent to preach the Gospel to world.
Paul was the PATTERN for the body of Christ (them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting). Stop arguing with God and just believe the truth.
Paul was one of many, not the one and only.
Wrong.
Paul understood Hellenistic culture, he knew the Greek language and Greek philosophy which is why he was sent to Athens and Rome.
So first you claim that there was no special need for Paul and then you describe his special qualifications. You're a double-minded man Dave.
Other apostles went to Persia, India, Asia Minor, Turkey, Ethiopia, and Spain.
Support the claim. And even if they did, so what? Were they not told to go to all the world?
When the believing Jews were persecuted, what did the twelve do? They stayed in Jerusalem per Jesus' instructions. There was an order that they were to follow.
Luke 24:47 (AKJV/PCE)
(24:47) And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
Problem was... Jerusalem did not accept the message.
Acts 1:8 (AKJV/PCE)
(1:8) But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Never happened... Israel rejected the message and God revealed His previously hidden dispensation to and through Paul.
Rom 16:25 (AKJV/PCE)
(16:25) Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
Peter did not know about the revelation of the mystery. Peter preached what the prophets wrote.
Acts 3:21 (AKJV/PCE)
(3:21) Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.
Those are NOT the same Dave. They are contradictory.
