Judge John Roach of the 296th District Court signed an order Friday outlining security and media restrictions before trial proceedings begin June 1.

Under the order, no visual or audio recording will be allowed by media or anyone else inside the courtroom. Seating will be limited, with designated areas reserved for families, members of the media, and the public. The court says in the order that the doors will close promptly at 9 a.m. each morning and people will not be admitted after until a recess.

Opening stages of the trial have started.
Jury selection is ongoing.

I've heard reports already saying that members of the killers family were caught trying to photograph or video record the faces of the potential jury members.

I am predicting a very light sentence, possibly low as 5 years. 9-15 max. If he gets life, I'll eat my hat.

No negroes.
Hey bro, what's all this negro stuff you are talking all the time? Do you have nightmares every night about cotton gins and crippled plantation workers chasing you around or something? This ain't "To Kill A Mocking Bird" you know.

Do you see this right here ---->

You know what that is?
That's the door to the 21st century! The future is now bud. You're welcome to take a step though it and join the rest of the world at anytime. :p

I find it more scientifically accurate then assigning them a color that none of them have or a continent of origin that in many cases is a mere fraction of their genetic makeup.
Obama for instance. Our first "black" president, whose skin color is light brown.
Our first president of African ancestry, whose mother's heritage was Irish.
Kamala Harris's identity and heritage is even more confusing.

Ironically I find it as accurate as "Caucasian", which I identify as even though my heritage is Northern Europe and not a bit (that I know of) from the Caucasus region 😁

Ironically the darkest skinned person that I knew personally was from the subcontinent.
And this was back when I was working in the inner city school system in schools that were 95% "black".
Those kids would call me the n-word seven times a day.
"Mr Koban! My ni66er!"

Spend some time on X.
Kamala Harris's identity and heritage is even more confusing.
She is Indian (from central Asia) and Jamaican.
my heritage is Northern Europe
Mine is western Europe. Others have done a ton of leg work on Ancestry.com. I thought it was heavy German and some English. It is actually heavy English and a little German. And the English and Scottish go back to the Norman Conquest. And they come France and NW Europe. No Celtics in the line.

Her mother is Indian. Kamala was raised in an Indian enclave and in Indian culture through the end of high school in a suburb of Montreal when her mother was working at McGill as a medical researcher. Interesting side note - McGill was the only foreign college I applied to when I was pre-med. About the same time that she was there.
Pictures from the period show Harris in the Sari or sarong with the dot on the forehead surrounded by other women similarly decked out.
This part of her heritage was soft pedaled as the African-American community has an uneasy relationship with Indian immigrants.
Her father's heritage is more complex. On one side he descends from the white slave owner who owned his black ancestor who intermingled with indigenous Caribbean stock.
As far as I can tell Harris is roughly
50% Indian (subcontinent)
25% European (white)
12 .5 percent African
And 12.5 percent indigenous Caribbean

I always thought it was a shame that they never mentioned her indigenous heritage.
