Any new impeachment proceedings would be flat out unconstitutional

As the crescendo of fear from the left reaches a fever pitch, a rational voice has been heard. A constitutional scholar has released his research on the constitutionality of the uniparty's desires. You know, that pesky old document that keeps on frustrating the wishes of the totalitarians.

I don't know about "unconstitutional". You probably can find 'experts' who say the opposite.

I do think it's a bad idea. The new president will be sworn in in any case in about a week. Impeachment will take time, and would just be an unnecessary slap in the face to Trump and millions of his supporters. This is not what the US needs right now.

So, you're saying that it is constitutional to impeach me, Hilltrot, from the Presidency . . .

Nope. It seems like you're just clueless.

Even if the House breaks every rule to push this impeachment through as quickly as possible, the earliest they can present the charges in the Senate is the 20th of January at 1 pm.

So, if impeaching Trump is Constitutional, so would impeaching me from the Presidency.

Have you paid any attention at all to what I actually said- or only what you think I ought to have said?

I have not said that impeachment is constitutional. or that it's not. I said that you could likely find experts on both sides of that question. Personally- I don't know.

I did say that I think impeachment is a mistake. To be clear: I think it's a stupid, vindictive, polarizing and pointless move.

Intereresting. Just what do you think of actions of the Democrats have been the last twelve years? In my eyes they've all been stupid, vindictive, polarizing, and pointless, especially the last 4 years. I haven't seen any attempt to unify the nation. I have seen those types of moves made by Trump. A whole lot of other people have seen them that way too. Especially the minorities because Trump has more supporters in the black and latino voters than any Republican president before him. A lot more. That means Trump's been unifying people not separating them.

Both sides have been awful- and both think it's only the other side that is awful.

The US is in bad shape.

What do you mean by both sides? Who are you referring to?

Really? The US is in bad shape? What was your first clue?

Both sides- the extreme left and the extreme right. Part of the problem is that there are far too many people on the extremes. Including many on this forum.

I don't remember my first clue. It was about 30 years ago...

Is Trump "extreme right"?

Once again you're using terms without explaining them. Who is the extreme left and who is the extreme right? Don't give me some non-descriptive words. Give examples of each and why you think they are extremists?

I think you simply don't want to understand.
Extremists invade the Capitol. Extremists have riots in Portland. Extremists support those actions.

Is there something wrong with being too right? Perhaps you do not know what it is to be right.

Like who?
I don't mean "right" as in "correct". I mean "right" politically.

Like who? The list is long, and time is short....

Sorry, chair, but "right" means correct, as well as referring to position.

if someone is politically "right," that means they are more right than wrong (generally speaking) It doesn't make them right all the time, but it does put them righter than most.

A wise man’s heart is at his right hand, But a fool’s heart at his left. - Ecclesiastes 10:2 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ecclesiastes10:2&version=NKJV

When I hear extreme right, I think of myself, @Bob Enyart, Doug McBurney, Fred Williams, Denver Bible Church, and many others. I don't think of racists, neo-nazis, and other wicked groups, because they, by definition, are not "right," or good, thus right (correct), but wrong, and foolish, and therefore "left."

So, Chair:

Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! - Isaiah 5:20 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Isaiah5:20&version=NKJV

Don't call what is evil "right," positional or moral. It only serves to confuse.

Sorry, but in this context, it refers solely to political view. Not to being "correct" or "on the right side of the body" or any other of the definitions of the word, which include such things as:
  • a privilege given stockholders to subscribe pro rata to a new issue of securities generally below market price
  • the power or privilege to which one is justly entitled
and so on- you can find a dictionary

You of course, being on the political right, think that you are correct. But the political left thinks they are correct too.

At the risk of being banned: Your word game is stupid demagoguery- and I think you know it full well.
