How far are we down the road to totalitarianism

This article at first surprised me, then on second thought it didn't with all the nonsense like lockdowns, mask rules, churches closed, small businesses destroyed, etc... going on with the scamdemic. But this is an alarming development as it demonstrates just exactly where this nation is headed.

If all this corruption stands, we are at the very door of totalitarianism. Liberty is all but gone.
This all saddens me. Trump did do some good things, but his recent antics are all that will be remembered.
I know you don't see it- you think he is saving the US, not destroying it. Try getting your news from alternate sources- i.e. ones you don't normally read. Look at foreign ones.

Hi.....
During the UK PM Cameron's time there were demonstrations that led to violence and vandalism in several cities and towns. The reason why am telling you this is because after the riots were over, the clean ups finished and everything was back in order, the arrests began.

Every second of every CCTV image which covered any part of the riots was scrutinised and where a person was seen carrying out an offense their faces were published for identification. After a time people started sending in private cctv footage and mobile videos, and the worst offenders were caught.

Our sentencing in the UK (for a lot of offenses) is very light compared to some countries but PM Cameron insisted that maximum sentences be imposed on anybody found guilty of Actual Bodily Harm, Burglary, Theft or Criminal Damage during the riots.

Recent scenes in Washington as shown around the World are bound to be reviewed in the same way.

You just make me laugh. I read Finnish, Swedish, British, French, German, Russian, even occasionally Chinese, websites when I can find them either published in English or translated into English. I am so much more well-read than you are that it just makes me laugh when you "advise" me on broadening my reading.

I'm disabled so I don't spend any time at work. I devote anywhere from 12 to 14 hours a day reading and I've done that for well over a decade. Plus I have been a vociferous reader since the third grade. Even while in school I used to read an average of a half dozen books a week over and above any reading for school work.

I suppose you've read twice that amount. Right?

Edit: And I read from a whole lot of sources that you won't even look at and dismiss out of hand. So who is it that needs to broaden his reading material?

And for all that rant, just as @chair suggests, you don't see the point he is making, do you........?
And you did not acknowledge chair's first paragraph, pointing out President Trump's successes.
Oh well......

Trump ... recent antics are all that will be remembered.
History will remember him as being the pause between the disaster of the Obama presidency and the disaster of the Biden presidency which led to World War 3

Given the events of Jan 6 2021, Trump's statement on inauguration day "This American carnage stops right here, right now" is off-the-charts ironic.

How long into Biden's presidency before he has to step down due to "medical conditions" so Harris can take over?
Expect "the squad" to surge in prominence and influence

They're going to be insufferable for the next 2 years. Inevitably they will overreach and we should be able to regain at least the senate if not the house as well.

If you had reading comprehension you would have understood that I replied to his every point. I read widely. I read from all types of sources: socialist, conservative, foreign and domestic.

That's not what you or chair do. You guys read only from a narrow point of view. If you did otherwise you wouldn't have such a narrow point of view. You wouldn't consider every conservative point of view a "conspiracy theory". You have had scientific evidence put in front of you time after time after time here and you've never even considered it. You've just discounted it as a "conspiracy theory" every time. You don't discuss evidence. You dismiss anything you don't want to hear. It happens every time.

And you're basing that on what? Where are Trump's words inciting people to break into the Capitol building? No one ever quotes him they just accuse. Just like you. The people actually attending the rally and his speech were upset because he didn't give a rah, rah speech. He gave a detailed recital of election fraud evidence state by state, and people who have heard all of it multiple times got bored and started leaving. That is not a crowd that has been incited to riot.

Just stop with the recitation of what you hear on the mockingbird media.

You don't know what I read.

Do you read any "mainstream media"? CNN, BBC and the like?

What do you think I mean when I say widely and further describe it as reading socialist sites?

I've posted so much stuff here on how the media warps, distorts, and publishes flat out lies, that it's just amazing that you still think they are truth tellers. They have had to admit they completely made stuff up when they are caught. They have also had to admit, when caught, that they suppress very important news. And I'll bet you can't even think of a time when they have done it despite their very public admissions.

I've posted here about blatant fraudulent reporting from the mockingbird media going back almost 100 years and followed that up with video documenting reporters blaming the public for believing them when they report "news" that they don't have a clue as to whether or not it's true. And no the reporting was all a scam put out by misinformation specialists. Yet they reported it as if it was real and gave no warning that they were guessing. Those same reporters defended themselves by pointing out other fake news that came out before their time. And that video came from the mid 1980s.

So, I've documented bad behavior of the media over a time span of almost a 100 years and you ignore all of that and swallow everything the media publishes. I find it mind boggling. You have one source for news it it's proven to be corrupt over a long period of time. On top of that you push me toward reading those corrupt sources. Oh, I read them from time to time, but they are not my main source of news for they have destroyed trust in them by their own actions. And the last 4 years have been a tidal wave of false reporting. Yet you continue to trust them.

LOL. Yeah, because you only listen to one source. You make it blatantly clear that is your choice. You listen only to corrupt media.

I do think the media is problematic. It is very hard these days to sort out what is real and what isn't- and the media tend to sensationalize everything.

Even given that, I find it hard to understand how someone as widely read as you can think this pandemic is fake.
