When you're a little kid, if something protects you, you assume it is perfect, or it's not any good at all. Some people never grow out of that. Those are the people who don't wear seat belts, don't take precautions against infection, and more often than adults, end up getting hurt as a result.
And get so angry when people point it out to them.
Sometimes, they get so steamed that they even make up a playground insult of your name for you. That's when you know they've really come unglued.

My youngest daughter wanted to buy a smart car for college. It made sense, but I was concerned about safety. Then I saw a video where the company ran one head-on into a masonry wall at 60 miles an hour. Parts went flying in all directions. But the passenger compartment was intact. Even the doors still worked.
And then the narrator pointed out that if you instantly went from 60 to 0, it wouldn't matter much if you were belted in and the compartment didn't collapse. The deceleration on your body would cause likely kill you. Still, the car seemed like a pretty good bet in a collision anyway.

Here is the thing: I disagree vehemently with everything ok doser posts - the posts, if taken as serious, are moronic beyond belief. So much so that I think there is a good chance that, avatar and post content notwithstanding, ok doser could be a liberal college student intentionally trying to make the loony right in your country (I assume you are an American) look bad. If so, good for them - rock on.
However - and I suspect few Christians will agree with me here - I suggest that humiliation and ridicule are legitimate tools available to the serious Christian. Think about this: suppose that I participate in a skit where I and a bunch of actors get dressed up as Hitler lookalikes, complete with greasy slicked down hair, ridiculous mustaches, and goose-stepping. What is the effect of such a display? Answer: It humiliates any out there who harbour Nazi inclinations.
And that, I suggest, is a good thing. A responsible thing. A Christian thing.
America has a big problem right now - a significant fraction of your population is clearly afflicted with intellectual and / or moral impairment so severe that they are prepared to vote for a race-baiting, adolescent demagogue to be their President
That, my friend, is a serious problem. If right prevails, Mr. Trump will be vanquished at the polls on November 3rd and will go back to dallying with pornstars. But that 40 % will still be there - still stewing in stupidity and intolerance.
I politely suggest that such people cannot be reasoned with. Perhaps it is time for targeted ridicule.

I believe surgical masks help but do not work 100% of the time in all instances. I also believe that most people don't wear them correctly. Like a condom, if it's reused, used incorrectly, doesn't seal or is broken, or is used 90% of the time, it may fail in its protection.
Generally, if you plan on talking or singing or are sick in any manner and haven't already recovered for the China virus, I would suggest wearing a mask around others. It's just the kind thing to do.

As far as the CDC study, it simply asked people. As guess what, people lie. Just ask Cuomo or any of the leftists here.

It happened to me on the M25, England.
I was car 13 in a 25 car pile up in 1987.
The car was a Ford Sierra and I was wearing a seat belt, simply because they were so well designed and so easy to clunk-click in place.
We none of us had ever allowed for sudden dense smoke, I reckon. A lorry burst in to flames in the slow lane, spewed smoke across the motorway and left us all suddenly blind at at about 70+ mph.
I reckon I hit the smashed car in front at about 60mph. And then I got hit from behind a split second later.
The seat belt worked amazingly, it let itself out slightly, slowing me down instead of dead stopping me. My forehead just touched the windscreen without breaking it and I had a coin sized bruise above my eyes. When I got slammed back in to the seat by the car behind the head rest saved my neck.
You should have seen that Sierra........ a bunch of metal, and I crawled out through a window that another driver smashed for me.
Everybody wore a seat belt that morning. Everybody had a head rest. We all sat on the grass bank above the motorway and introduced ourselves, all perfectly well.
I never travel without putting on a belt........ for sure.

I happen to think on those issues, he's really that sick, but it's a sickness that's shared by others, it's not singular. Other issues, I think sometimes he just says something outrageous for effect.
