Oh, he comes in for more than you'd know but unlike Trump and as explained before, he's not so egotistical that he can't send himself up. Have a laugh at himself. When has Trump ever done that? You're even reduced to using "Trumpism's" like "fake news". You've been shown umpteen videos that haven't censored Trump's own words regarding Covid-19 and yet you're still just ignoring it all.

I'm not lying about the guy you won't entertain any criticism of GD. You wanna see him through some rose tinted glasses then you go right ahead.

You are lying. Show the video.

Trump can't handle anything that undermines his fragile super ego. He can't entertain even milder criticism because of it. That's why he reacts how he does to difficult situations and awkward questions and the like. By fuming at said reporters and tweeting like a child about how great he is. You buy into that for whatever reason.

You can't handle someone liking Trump.

The military recognized the origin of the Spanish Flu and there's a museum to honor the dead and it's not in Spain. Those who ignore clear facts have for the most part been hired to work in the fake news media nowadays; you might look into getting a job at one. I heard CNN is hiring. The only reason that it's even called the 'Spanish' flu is because Spain didn't censor their news during the War to End all Wars so most of the world's journalists could only quote the news and statistics that Spain published.

Fake news. That doesn't even make sense what you said about Spain. You believe any dumb site.

Boris seems to be trying to bring your country together rather than play politics and pit one side against against the other. He’s also competent. From what I have seen, Boris loves his country.

That is what most of us think. He is the personification of our united thoughts and efforts at this time.
This is not politics or religion or culture here...... it is the support and security of our National Health Service and all the people who work within and around it.

We had our Thursday 8.00pm hand-clap for the NHS yesterday. Oh my! It's taken off. Rockets were going up in the sky, drums, a hunting horn, clapping, spoons banging pots........ people calling out. Everywhere and every direction. I looked far across the estuary to Essex during all this and could see rockets going up from there as well.

The last time that our people united about something was the week that Diana died.

Who..... Boris? Ha ha! Do you remember how he would often be invited on to 'Not the 9 o'clock News' ?? They used to set him up horribly and then just chuck some stuff at him out of the blue. And he could take it. I reckon that those sessions helped towards his ability to cope with just about anything that could be stuffed in his face. I wonder what that TV team think about all that now?

If this sickness rampages the US then it might have been assisted in its passage by the mixed messages being sent out by the President, imo.
As I watch his news presentations and listen to his adjectives like 'fantastic', 'tremendous', 'best', 'winning', and about his 'great' guys and 'wonderful advisers' I notice that he just does not tell the country exactly what it has got to do. And then he tells the country how he won't do this, or that, and how he thinks a policy could be relaxed, and then I wonder how this could affect the actions of the people..,.,...

Thank Heavens we have got a real 'darkest hour' leader. And 'No', I can't vote for Boris's general policies....... but this ain't a 'general situation'.

We're a big country, with a lot of people. Not a little dinky country like yours. Six time zones compared to your one. Strategies that might be right for Florida may not be right for Maine or Alaska or Hawaii or Nebraska or Connecticut. We tend to let governors make these kind of decisions, as they tend to know their states best.

As we're seeing, the governor of NYS and the mayor of NYC blew it, big time.

Why bother, you'd only clamour "fake news" anyway. It's there, just like with all his other garbage that you don't want to admit. Seriously, what is it with you lot who can't seem to hack anything negative about a president who self proclaims himself a super genius? It's utterly bizarre how you just seem to "think" - "Hey, he's so great".

There is an 8 minute film on IT about coronavirus, Trump and America. A mate sent it to me. I cannot link it it to you here because I expect that it might be censored in the US.

The most shockingly damning film I have ever seen.

There is a type of strength in the way the US is organized, with the States having much of the power and responsibility. But there is also a great weakness, which this virus crisis brings out. The errors of a governor or mayor in one place aren't isolated. People travel. There aren't real "borders" between states. So poor handling in NYC will affect the rest of the US- some places sooner, some later, some worse, some not as bad. But consoling yourself with "they blew it, big time" is poor consolation. It's a national crisis, and on a national level, the US is failing.

The USA is a free country. There's no official censorship. So post away!

If you take NYC out and rerun the stats, we're doing better than a lot of countries

We need to build a wall around NYC

and get Mexico to pay for it!

...last I checked, NYC is part of the US. Even without NYS, the US is not doing well. Why is this so hard to grasp? The US is being hit, hard. It will get a lot worse before it gets better. It is a national problem, and a national failure. And it is not somebody else's fault.

Israel? OK.
I'll bet Israel censors media material as well! :D
Here there is some military censorship. Not political censorship. You'll see every possible opinion on the Coronavirus situation in the press.
But where's that link?!

I don't think the member that you replied to has really understood just how serious this pandemic really is.
Not long ago he described forecasts as shrieked hysteria or similar. He thought that some of us were beginning to talk about past disasters such as WWII..... he overlooked 9/11 as I remember.
He doesn't seem to understand that giving mixed messages to the people can break down a whole country's resolve to stay in, isolate and lockdown and this could be helping the virus to spread........ much further.

Today in the UK we were shown film of mass graves being excavated in the USA, NYC I think it was.

Yes, mass graves in NYC. Hart Island. Potter's field.
9/11 was easier to get people united about. A foreign enemy is easier to unite around. The measures taken weren't that disruptive.
The virus is invisible, has no ideology, and, because of the time delay between infection and showing symptoms, tricky, misleading, and harder to comprehend as a threat.
