Trump should have called it the "CCP Virus" instead of Chinese, etc. It is precisely because of the corrupt dictatorial government of China that this virus got so out of hand in the first place. (CCP = "Chinese Communist Party")

It is said that it might have come from the wet markets. It is said that it might have come from the scientist labs in China. China is a Communist country. How do you think you proved it shouldn't be referred to the place in which it originated?

The Ebola virus was named for a river in Africa where the Ebola virus originated, where the people there eat monkeys. Why aren't people fighting that name? Maybe because people are too stupid to know it is a place in Africa?

From now on the western media will mostly call it coronavirus or covid-19. There have been too many threats, harassments and attacks on Asian folks of late.

It's just all about caring for everybody in the community.

But some just don't care, it seems. If so, shame on them

President Trump calls it coronavirus now. Somebody sure changed his mind

It's just all about caring for everybody in the community.

a favorite tactic of the politically correct, claiming the moral high ground

But some just don't care, it seems. If so, shame on them

another favorite tactic, attempting to silence those who disagree with them by public shaming

If you don't care about your Asian citizens then shame on ypu.!

Don't you care about Germans?! Don't you care about Africans? Why aren't you getting the names of diseases named after them and their countries changed?

Get the name 'German' off of the measles disease, and get the name Ebola off because Ebola is a river in Africa where the disease originated.

You are the one who is shameful.

You are an instigator, and a false witness, and a hypocrite.

The reason they are saying coronavirus is because TOO MANY DISEASES already came from China and they want to be able to tell them apart when they talk about them.

It's not about race at all, its about politics: "Trusting dictatorships has backfired again. The Chinese regime cares only about its power. This crisis also focuses attention on how authoritarian regimes infiltrate & exploit global institutions like WHO, as with the UN and Interpol." -- Garry Kasparov, https://twitter.com/Kasparov63/status/1246851007881109504

It is also about taking responsibility for your own actions, and not blaming everything on a scapegoat. Here is a partial list of Democracies that have failed their own people in this crisis. Number of cases and deaths as of early April 6:
country cases deaths
Italy128,94815,887Europe
Spain131,64612,641Europe
United States336,8309,618North America
France92,8398,078Europe
United Kingdom47,8064,934Europe
Yes, it started in China. And yes, the Chinese covered it up at first. But we only have ourselves to blame for letting it get out of hand in our own countries. There was plenty of time to take action- and we didn't.

Did Western governments drop the ball? Yes. Can we blame China for that? No. Is China still covering up the truth about the coronavirus? I suspect the answer is yes. First there was Dr. Li Wenliang, who was arrested for "spreading rumors" and threatened into silence when he tried to warn the public about the novel virus. He later died of the very disease he tried to warn us about. Now, another Chinese doctor who was on the front lines has gone missing: https://nypost.com/2020/04/01/whistl...usly-vanishes/

It's not about the Chinese people per se, it is about the fact that the Chinese people are ruled over by a criminal gang.

Yes, they are ruled by a corrupt gang. But to keep harping on that, rather than demanding that we and our leaders act responsibility, is irresponsible.

I am no longer convinced that this would have gone any better if the virus had started in NYC, rather than Wuhan.

Who is not demanding that our leaders act responsibly?

Do you think that doctors in NYC would have been arrested for "spreading rumors"?

Everybody who is focusing on the Chinese Scapegoat
Do you think that doctors in NYC would have been arrested for "spreading rumors"?

No. Of course not. They would have been 1) ignored at first, 2) ridiculed online later, and 3) when finally taken seriously by government officials, it would have taken them forever to take serious action. #1 and #2 are speculation (though one could try to draw parallels from past events). #3 is a fact. That is what happened once it was clear that the threat was real. To some degree it is still happening.
