Hi and how are GENTILES saved today ??

There are verses on how we are saved and 1 Tim 1:16 says there is a PATTERN , so what is the pattern of verses on salvation ??

dan p

Jews are saved today, the same way Gentiles are saved today.

They are regenerated to new spiritual life through the resurrection power of the Holy Spirit, who gives them new hearts with which to exercise faith in the righteousness of Jesus Christ; new minds to repent from sin; new eyes and ears to hear and comprehend the Gospel. John 3:1-16; II Corinthians 3:17-18

One, eternal salvation; totally the work of God.

See Romans 5:15-21

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is not a "pattern" or formula, such as what you pull together with random verses of Holy Scripture.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ contains the Truth as revealed in all those N.T. verses, but grace was revealed throughout the O.T. despite differing historical circumstances of God drawing and calling His elect people to faith in His Covenant promises of the Saviour.

There is one Everlasting Gospel (Revelation 14:6), and God has revealed it from the time of the garden (Genesis 3:15), to this very day, without any change in essence or promise. All fulfilled in these latter days, in the incarnation, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Sigh . .

Jesus Christ, and His fulfillment of Godly promise, is the one and only remedy of saving grace, and successful rescue of His elect sons, from bondage to sin, death, and the devil.

The Everlasting Gospel is not a humanistic "pattern" followed in order to get oneself saved!

The one true Gospel, is the message of Grace from God, provided by God, to redeem His people from JUDGMENT.

You think backwards, upside-down, and inside-out, fella . . as do most of your Dispie/Mad coherts. The curse of blindness to the light and actual saving grace of God, boldly exemplified.

Hi and did you read 1 Tim 1:16 that Paul is the PATTERN unto the ones coming to salvation ?

Or that the everlasting Gospel happenes in the Tribulation and has nothing TO DO with the B O C and your context is really up side down !!

I would be interested to know how you explain using II Corinthians 5:19 in a universalistic sense,
I'm not a universalist. There is no universal salvation spoken of in the scriptures, only biblical world reconciliation!

All of the world's sins were in the future when God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself not imputing their trespasses unto them!

2 Corinthians 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

2 Corinthians 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

All of our sins were in the future when Christ was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

Romans 4:25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

Christ died for our sins!

1 Corinthians 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

1 Corinthians 15:2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

1 Corinthians 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

1 Corinthians 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

The man Christ Jesus gave Himself a ransom for all to be testified in due time

1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

1 Timothy 2:6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

The sin/sins issue was dealt with/settled by God through the faith and finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ 2000 years ago. The complete WORK of our salvation was accomplished then. The debt was paid. God raised Christ from the dead to prove that it's a done deal!

It is up to each individual to be reconciled to God (2 Corinthians 5:20 KJV). Salvation is a gift (Ephesians 2:4-9 KJV). And like any gift, it must be received. One receives it by trusting the Lord believing the word of truth, the gospel of our salvation; how that Christ died for our sins and that He was buried and rose again the third day (1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV, Ephesians 1:13-14 KJV). The gospel of Christ is the power of God unto salvation to EVERY ONE THAT BELIEVETH (although no longer to the Jew first and also to the Greek...now to ALL MEN) for therein is the righteousness of God revealed.

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Romans 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

The righteousness of God is UNTO ALL, and UPON ALL THEM THAT BELIEVE.

Romans 3:21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

Romans 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

Her mind is so saturated with creeds and statements of faith, she cannot understand the simplest Bible passages. It really is sad what the Protestant Religion can do to people.
Sad indeed. As the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so their minds are corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

If Christ's atonement was unlimited and reconciled all men in righteousness to God, then "Universalism" is being proclaimed.

You appear to hold to a Limited Atonement, as held by Calvin, more or less.

As such, you would not mean (by YOUR use of the word "Universalism") what that word means when describing the Universalist.

Is that about right?

Rom. 5:8

Rom. 5:8

The atonement of Jesus Christ either was efficacious for all or only efficacious for some.

There are only two soteriological views:

Universal salvation

Particular salvation

I hold to the latter.

The Gospel wasn't the mystery. the grammar says the conveyance of the promises through the Gospel was the mystery. That is, it was a mystery to the Judaism Paul grew up in. It was not a mystery to the original people in the OT. That is why the fulfillment is not as literal as you are thinking. That is why the raised fallen tent of David is the entrance of the Gentiles. That is why Christ himself is the covenant and light. That is why the resurrection itself is the fulfillment of all that was promised. That's why mystified Judaism.

The NT is always speaking to how the Judaism of their day saw things.

Made up, as usual.
