It is bad news, to base your acceptance by a holy LORD God on obeying, making the DBR of none effect, establishing your own righteousness, based upon what you do, not what the Saviour already did. News, by definition, is something that has already happened..

The works Paul was talking about is the animal sacrifices, the purification/ceremonial works. Those are the works that used to atone for one's soul; now only faith that Jesus' blood does that cleans us. So how do you EVER get that Paul says we do not have to obey anything to get saved?

Judas preached it and was disqualified for not obeying it.
Paul preached it and made sure he was not disqualified while helping to save others.

Lol nothing there says Paul preached a different gospel in the beginning.
Paul was referring not just to Mosaic law but to any seemingly meritorious work which one might do to think it would bring justification in the sight of GOD.

The people had to PURIFY THEMSELVES---they had to WORK ant purifying themselves.
Doesn't mean we do not have to obey and stop sinning and do right.

He taught to believe in Jesus for the forgiveness of sins---just like all are taught now. Jesus came first for those people and saved them BEFORE he died.
This is what Judas preached:
Mat 10:6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Mat 10:7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

That is the gospel message.
The kingdom is at hand for to all who want to be saved.
Jesus went first for the lost sheep of Israel.
Those are the people who already belonged God. God gave them to Jesus. They now had to go through Jesus to remain God's.
"The Kingdom at hand" was the Davidic, Messianic earthly kingdom promised to the nation of Israel according to all the prophets of Israel.
