The most beautiful word in the English language is.....

annabenedetti

like marbles on glass
Drysophila

I had to look that up in the dictionary, but apparently m-w doesn't know what it is either. What does it mean?

Town Heretic

Thank you.

Okay, that's two words but they belong together and that's a powerful couple. Soft as a benediction or joyous as a hallelujah.

Thank you... :D

I'd been thinking about words I would consider beautiful, not by virtue of their meaning, but by how they sound:
Cool thread, Anna. :thumb:

I like serendipity which a few people have said already.
And autumn, which I at least saw SOJ mention.

This isn't 1 word but I like the string....Hickory wicker biscuit.

marshmallow
gubernatorial
Diamante
numerator

At the other end of the spectrum are the ugly words. My vote for the worst-sounding word, one that's a family joke because the more times you say it the worse it sounds:

moist.
:chuckle:

A couple bad ones...
rural
Subaru
realtor
