Yes if the branch obeys the vine then there will be fruit you think.

The Bible says to abide, not to obey.

The Bible says to obey.

Do you really want to start going against obeying Jesus?

Acts 5:29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

Acts 5:32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

Abiding is rest not works.

The works we do not have to do are the ceremonial works to clean ourselves.

Jesus' blood now cleans us.

Works only comes by abiding.

You just contradicted yourself, went against the truth, and preach confusion.

Disobedience is a result of not resting.

2Pe 2:20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
2Pe 2:21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. 2Pe 2:22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

You are a worker, not an abider.

Do you know what the Holy Commandment is???

This is sad indeed, for you are even further from God's Truth.

Resting is abiding unto good works. Whose? His!

The Jews had MANY works, the ceremonial works.

The Jews worked at keeping themselves clean,

just so they could be near God's Spirit.

Jesus told the Jews that he would give them rest.

Faith in Jesus' blood cleans us.

No one has to work at making themselves clean anymore.

That does not mean we do not have to obey Jesus' commands.

It does not mean we do not have to abstain from evil and obey.

It means we do not have to keep offering the blood of animals.

It means we do not have to adhere to a dietary law.

It means we do not have to observe special days.

It means we do not have to do various washings, just because we touched or sat where someone on their period sat, or touched or sat where a man who had an emission, etc.

It means we do not have to be circumcised in the flesh.

". . . . I live by the Faith OF the Son of God" Gal.20 KJV

You live by the faith of the Son of God?

Living by the faith of the Son of God is to be OBEDIENT.

Speaks of intimacy to me, per John 17:3. . . ;)

You say per John 17:3.

John 17:3 Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

Tell me, how do you KNOW the only true God?

I will tell you how, according to the Word of God.

1 John 2:3 And by this we may know that we know Him--if we obey His commands.

I asked: Disd the Jews abide in Christ?

Your answer:

That is NOT what I asked!

I already answered you.

Having living faith is faith with obedience, and it IS abiding in Christ. Christ IS GOD. Believing and obeying God is abiding in Him. It is abiding in Christ.

Not all Jews abided in Christ.

So what are the commands?????

Do you really not know?

I would love to tell you, but do you really not know?

Would someone reconcile Ephesians 2:8-9 and James 2:26?

Easy, no way to perform any works of God without the Spirit of God who is the one who works through us.

Looks to me like James is saying that actual faith - will express itself in works to God.

Works do not save, do not keep salvation, but are a result of it because the Spirit points to God.

The Holy Commandment is to labor to enter into His rest.

To lay down ones life as He did.

We do this when a believer, and it is due to refusing that commandment that so many believers never become filled with the Holy Spirit, and turn away from Christ, then pick up mans religion of one kind or other.

2Pe 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2Pe 2:2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.

2Pe 2:17 These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.
2Pe 2:18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.
2Pe 2:19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.
2Pe 2:20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

What makes you think that laboring to "know" God in an intimate way, won't bring the same result?

We HAVE TO OBEY.

Obedience in not a club to beat people with, GT...

It is of God the Gift for us to embrace in Love...

Voluntarily in Joy...

By beating people with "OBEY!!" as you do,
you are changing God's gift to us into a curse,
and are thereby driving people away from obedience...
And in this you then are making a mockery of God's Truth...

A baby can't do anything for anybody even himself, can't even feed himself without Mama sticking it right there into his mouth.

Babes of the spirit --who are SAVED but usually, or at least often, not yet capable of bearing much discernible fruit. Sometimes you can't tell them very much apart from the unsaved.

Not for nothing Jesus used child-likeness as a pre-requisite for the kingdom of Heaven. They need the "sincere milk" of the word to grow. As they learn and practice flailing and keep getting the word they'll grow and later on they can feed on the meat of the word.

False doctrines are fruits of feeding meat to babes before they're ready, but mostly because of sin of course. Some babes choke on the meat.

If John 3:16 is a promise from God of eternal life upon believing on Jesus Christ. If you "lose it" upon your next sin, then what kind of "eternal" is that??!!!

Obvious answer: It isn't!! Duh. For ALL have sinned and come short, and if we say we have not sin we are liars and make God a liar.

And we know God is not a liar, therefore by the laws of logic and the axiom of the word of God we know that once one believes in Jesus Christ, he has eternal life, he is a new creature, [Jesus] must increase and I must decrease.

I would say you need to quit celebrating Jesus every Sunday and learn what it means, and the necessity of it, to surrender your life to Him. , ,, get on with becoming a son in whom He can be well pleased, right?

Would someone reconcile Ephesians 2:8-9 and James 2:26?

The reason Paul wrote this pastorally to the Ephesians was because of the great effort required to be a Christian, because those practicing the Faith of Christ could easily misconstrue the Grace they received as being caused by their strenuous efforts, which it is not. The Grace comes from God ["...of God the Gift..."] BECAUSE...

ONLY GOD has Himself to Give, and the Grace of God is God Himself...

In the EKONOMIA of the Salvation of Christ, He requires us to demonstrate in our actions that we indeed DESIRE that He GIVE it to us... ["...Be ye asking, and ye shall receive..."] In the absence of doing what Christ commands us to do, or as Paul writes, to OBEY those who have been given the RULE OVER us, and to "...stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle..." ( 2Thess 2:15 ) In the absence of these things, we demonstrate in our actions that we really, in reality, do NOT desire the Gift of God of Himself in us, and He will graciously not give it to us...

The CALL of Christ, Holy as it is, is NOT His Salvation [Glorification]...

Salvation is His UNION with us in the MARRIAGE of the Lamb...
