Paul doesn't mince words. We must sow to the Spirit to reap Eternal life. (Galatians 6:8) This can only be done by Grace. No-one receives reconciliation to God and thus the Holy Spirit other than through the blood of Christ.
Sowing to the Spirit is in fact boasting in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9) and need of Christ. It is life through Christ from beginning to end as it is life that depends upon Grace and Christ, His Spirit, His love, His power.
