What was the purpose of the cruel cross? Jesus could have chosen something easier.

Please... Answer this question*with gentleness and respect. ( 1 Peter 3:15). IOW... answer as if you are speaking to someone who may be *a new christian, but has a different understanding of the signicance of the the cross (physical death). This person said "why Did Christ need to die a physical death? He didnt. that was a choice, to accept. otherwise redemption could have taken form in any manor.

How would you answer that? What do you think?

There is no forgiveness without the shedding of blood.

Hebrews 9:22 King James Version (KJV)

Jesus died physically and spiritually.

Jesus spent six hours on the cross, one hour for each millennial day.

Had Jesus been beaten and beheaded there would have still been shedding of blood.

Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood

Is sin spiritual? Is death the penalty for sin?

Was Adam told if he sinned he would die twice?

Jesus didn't sin, he didn't die spiritually.

If we carry on wilfully sinning we do! Because God will leave us to our reprobate ways.

Jesus didn't die for his sin, he died for our sin so we could be buried with him.

It's appointed for everyone to die once, that's no big deal. And then we are judged.

Jesus was a living sacrifice, just as we are to be.

Jesus sacrificed his whole life to do the will of God.

He was dead to his flesh and the lusts of it, and Satan couldn't touch him. He never sinned. He suffered and he resisted Satan and he strived against sin, and in doing so and not sinning, Jesus overcame Satan, he overcame evil with good.

Jesus never ever died spiritually. He is the way, the, truth and the life.

And Jesus said to the thief on the cross, today you will be with me in paradise. How is that possible if Jesus died spiritually?

How can he be dead spiritually, when the apostle Paul said

Romans 8

Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

Why the cross, and not some other method of death, execution?

You cannot crucify yourself, nor can you "un-crucify" yourself-physically impossible. Try it. Thus, a learning lesson(Romans 15:8 KJV), the LORD God would have us know:

Both justification, and subsequent sanctification, are of the LORD-His work for us, and later, once justified, in us.

Additionally....crucifixion:

- was generally a long, excruciating, painful ordeal; so is our sanctification.

-a person crucified was considered "good as dead."

Do you think there is a proper way to punish people that burn their children alive to Ba'al, commit murder over money, commit adultery, beastality, sodomy, slave trading and all the other things like coveting? Justice as served for sin.

But He carried our sins. that's why our sins will be wipe away if we believe in Him.
