What if God doesn't want to make American great again?

Good article, i agree with it. I believe America to be under judgment for rejection of God.

The only thing that will make America great is mass repentance, turning their hearts to God and desiring His will instead of pushing Him further and further from our lives.

Very much agree with your prescient statements. The standards of the Christian should not be the standards of the world where greatness is concerned. God is great. The things of God are great. Only God is worthy, and why? Most importantly, to my mind, because He is holy, because He is righteous, immutably so, can be trusted so.

It is by the standards of God, as exemplified in the man Christ Jesus, that we should measure ourselves. Greatness is not in political power, wealth, appearances, the trappings of the outer men, all the things your exclusively carnal, materialistic, phony man of vanity seeks after, as a fool that doesn't realize what is here today is gone tomorrow, Luke 12:16-21, but these are the people on the cover of your magazines. On your TV screens. The type-A, "successful" man of obscene wealth is the role model, not the Carpenter from Galilee who told us not to seek the things of the world, rather the things of God, not things temporary, but things eternal, not things of the flesh, but the things of God, to cleanse the inner man, not polish the outer, not to live in pride of life, but humility: and to repent!

By measure of God's values, and if this is the only true measure of greatness, the American and world culture, which is largely influenced by America and the likes of Hollywood: these things could not be more diametrically opposed to God. Whatever the great nation of WWII and however many more missionaries we've had, we've moreso flooded the world with Satanic rock and roll, pornography, violent entertainment and violence in reality, and are now "marrying" homos. (One could go on for pages expounding on malfeasancs from there.) Can you not see Jonah standing outside your freaking, rusty gates? Marriage is a sacred covenant ordained of God, that is a similitude to the relationship between the Lord and His bride, the body of Christ. Your great nation has made this a similitude to an abomination and the likes of anal intercourse. In the eyes of God, you could not more formally be defiling yourselves and in direct rebellion. Also, the God I know, that knows the inner man, Hebrews 4:12, doesn't respond favorably to lip service.

Whatever filament of morality is left in some of you who are strutting your American stuff, despite all, don't see any quite desperate need for repentance, because there are nations in the world that are worse, seems to me that's like saying, "Well, I'm not the worst criminal! I may be a serial killer, but Bundy killed more than I did!" A criminal is a criminal, Galatians 6:7.

Christians, it appears to me you're getting a choice of voting for Frick or Frack, that God isn't showering His blessings on anybody. Your hero, Mr. Trump, who may be a less venomous snake, only time will tell, has claimed Christ, but that he's not had anything he's had to repent over. If no problem registers with you, YOU had better fall on your knees and cut the fake religion crap! Tell you what, all the years I've heard of the man, he's never been known as a Christian, hasn't advocated for the Lord Jesus, has had a public microphone for years, but not once stood up for Jesus, preached the simple gospel, given a Christian witness. He's suddenly Saint Trump, as all presidential candidates become miraculously born again as soon as the campaign microphone is turned on. Trump's bathroom fixtures or easy chairs, a few trappings in his abode with all the opulent taste of a French whorehouse, could save scores of children from starvation, for a whole year or more. His buddies at cocktail parties squander what would save whole villages at gambling tables, between sex tourism trips, and nobody, but nobody, who's a typical, upright citizen, salt of the earth citizen, is invited to the party. As far as they're concerned, they want your vote, your tax money, your business, but then just take your smelly, middle class rear somewhere else. Not a one of you are on the list, yet how you adore them!

Sorry, Laodiceans and other prosperity gospel deluded, but I do believe it's going to pan out that a person may not have obscene wealth while children are starving in this world and see the kingdom of heaven, Matthew 19:24, that such people are going to take their places with the "Lord, Lord" crowd, Matthew 7:21-27, Matthew 25:45, Luke 21:1-4. And it so tiring, "Well, didn't <so and so> do a fund raiser for Jerry's kids?" Some vainglorious celebrity, with a mansion on every continent, takes a trip to Africa, does a photo op with some black kids, throws a money sop to a few unfortunates, and suddenly they're the second coming in the Hollywood rags. It has always been intuitively obvious to me, as a Christian, that if a person values gold gilt bathroom fixtures more than innocent lives, squanders wealth that could save lives on their own obscene opulence, gives what amounts to a token pittance, relative to their abundance, I, for one, want to live in a separate neighborhood than these preening hypocrites and deceivers in heaven, because I really can't tolerate the vainglorious and pretentious, with their pride of life, would rather play cards with a dog.

One could say a lot more, provide scripture out the wazoo wherein the truth is found, but most of you are too busy denying your culpability, your, in reality, enmity against God and the things of God, the time of your visitation, to make that worthwhile. Those of you who are buying into the lines that pigs fly and rain is beer, every four year cycle, have a more fundamental issue with realizing that even a monkey learns certain things, the first time.

Nineveh repented, but I'm not holding my breath for Washington to repent and cut the wolfing, repent of the lovefest with the likes of evil dictators, antichrist Muslims and homos, measuring the worth of our children in barrels of oil, etc. In any event, people so far gone as to have their snouts glued to a People magazine and value systems that are upside down probably shouldn't even use the word greatness. As it stands, there won't be any Hollywood ending, either.

Romans 3

10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
13 Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:
14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:
15 Their feet are swift to shed blood:
16 Destruction and misery are in their ways:
17 And the way of peace have they not known:
18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.

what would it take for you to call a country 'great'? is there anything?

Probably not to be honest, at least not realistically. As long as there's corporations, political machinations and bureaucracy in any government there'll always be those who receive the short end of the stick in society, those unable to do anything about it.

No, Jesus isn't cool with multiple marriages, only under the right circumstances -

John 4:18 KJV -
I'm liberal but conservative traditional in some aspects...If you make a legal vow, live up to it.... don't try to weasel out because the Lord releases you or some such crap... Its been my observation that some of the most fundamentalist Christians are the most serial re-marriers around

...Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition...

That is the Second Coming not the rapture.

The rapture could occur at any time. It is a reward for your faithfulness (him that overcometh)--a door, a trumpet and come up hither (1 Thess 4:16-18, Re 4). :rapture:

To Bible believing Christians out there, a question I've had to ask myself, for years now, is how can you ask God to bless America? It seems we can pray for repentance, with no indication this is going to happen, but this a good prayer. However, can you look at things now and speak of greatness, in the true terms of righteous, repentant spirituality that leads to God blessing a people? Only God's blessings can possibibly make any nation great, with a future. Can you even ask for God's blessings, in light of what we've become?

Here was something written by Dr. David Reagan, such an excellent summation of his experience and observations:

The America I grew up in is gone. It is dead. And there is no hope of its resurrection.

I was born in 1938, making me 77 years old, and when I was growing up in the 1940s and 50s:

We went to church three times a week — Sunday morning, Sunday evening and Wednesday evening — and we had four week–long Gospel meetings each year — one each quarter.

All but the most essential businesses — like hospitals, pharmacies and gasoline stations — were closed on Sundays. No secular events, including sporting events, were scheduled on Sunday or on Wednesday evenings.

We had daily prayers and Bible readings in school, and we celebrated Easter and Christmas with special plays and musicals. We also used readers in our English classes that contained Bible stories. And at graduation time, we had special baccalaureate services where a minister would deliver an inspirational sermon to the graduating class.

Every public event from court proceedings to city council meetings and PTA meetings were opened with a prayer.

Movies and television programs were strictly regulated by strong moral codes.

Our local, state and national leaders talked openly about God and their Christian faith and often led prayers, as President Franklin Roosevelt did on D–Day in 1944 when we invaded the European mainland.

I could go on and on, but I think you get the picture.

America was not a perfect nation. Racism was still rampant and materialism was gaining momentum, but we were still a nation that honored and recognized the Christian principles of our forefathers and the founders of our nation. And we were still very aware that our blessings came from God.

The Radically New America

The America of today is radically different, and the changes have taken place with startling rapidity.

Incredibly, in just over 50 years since the decade of the 1960s, we have become a nation in full–blown, open rebellion against God. Today:

We worship the Almighty Dollar.
Greed has become our national motivator.
Sex is our obsession.
Gambling is our national past time.
We are the world’s largest consumer of illegal drugs.
We have banned God from our schools.
We have declared God off limits in the public arena.
We are teaching our children the fantasy of evolution.
We are slaughtering babies in the name of “freedom of choice” for women.
We have glamorized homosexuality.
We have legalized same–sex marriage.
We are in the process of legalizing marijuana.
And we have become the moral polluter of planet earth with our violent, immoral and blasphemous movies and TV programs.

In summary, we are a nation that has rejected its Christian heritage and has replaced that precious heritage with a crude, paganized culture. We are a rebellious nation that is thumbing its nose at the Creator God who showered us with unparalleled blessings for over 300 years.

So, to Christians, the carnal desires and dreams of greater empire aside, the outward trappings man honors, but God does not: in light of the righteousness God requires, can you look at the list in blue and pray for God's blessings?

America has been handed to it's sins. Americans who are both patriotic and religious have a bit of cognitive dissonance- they know that the state of America is not going to change and that it is contrary to Christianity, but choose to nonetheless not only uphold both, but also merge them together.

Just because a country starts out as one thing does not mean it is guaranteed to remain. You had all these people in the past swearing by 'manifest destiny', but that was then. And nothing shows it more then how America is now.

One of the founders of Transformational Marxism. Georg Lukacs, talked about "Abolishment of Culture." Lukacs knew that Christianity had created a dominant culture in the West which made the individual important and that culture saw each individual as being unique, to be honored as such.

The Financial and Corporate Ruling Elite has co-opted Transformational Marxism. It is true, though, that the Anglo-American Establishment, or ruling elite, existed before the 20th century incorporation of Transformational Marxism as a means to bring down the culture.

The elite have been using this type of Marxism, which is not the Bolshevism of Lenin and Stalin, to severely diminish the Culture of the United States, in order then to be able create their International World Government, Culture and their religion. They must have the cooperation of a number of people in a ruling class below them to realize their goals. A mass of people supporting the present message of Trump is threatening to the ruling elite.

The last four presidential administrations have gradually diminished our culture. Now,the election of 2016 is a Crossroad and very important point in the weakening of our culture in order to bring us into an international collectivist regime.

A new movement has challenged the ruling elite and their use of Transformational Marxism through political correctness and control over the mainstream media.

Marxism has to get rid of that Christian - and family based - culture which made the individual outstanding, and replace it by a collectivist group oriented culture.

Marxism - Transformational Marxism - had to reduce the spiritual power of the Christian Gospel in order to bring in a collectivist group-centered culture.

The falling away - apostasy - in II Thessalonians 2: 3-4 could be seen to be a result to a great extent of this war upon American culture, identity, borders, language and nationalism. Georg Lukács called for an "Aufhebung der Kultur," Abolishment of Culture, of the West and he focused also on the diminishing of the Gospel of Christ. That spiritual power of millions of individuals joined in faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ had to be brought down before a Marxist collectivist society and culture could be set up.

What made the West - and especially the United States - different from from Russia, the Marxist Lukacs understood, was a Christianity in which individuals were given a spirit by God. And this powerful Christian spirituality in the U.S.emphasized the uniqueness and sacredness of the individual.

The dominant culture of the West had raised up individuals. And the whole Gospel of Christ raised the individual above the mere flesh of
man through Christ and the Holy Spirit. But Marxism affirms that which is mere physical and the collective, the group. and hence the phrase "It takes a village to
raise a child" of Hillary and other Marxists. I know she has negative traits that are part of something other than Marxism.

As Jim McCanney says at the end of each of his broadcasts on WWCR short wave and on the Internet "We are at the Crossroads."

Making America great again can mean just preventing the ruling elite from fully realizing their goal of taking America captive. It can mean restoring our culture, at least for now. Both political parties at the national level have been working for the ruling elite for some time. But Trump has managed to be nominated by the Republicans while the Democratic nominee in 2016 is fully for the taking of America captive to the goals of the financial and corporate elite, and thereby realizing the goal of Georg Lukacs, the "Abolishment of Culture."

And - the spiritual power of the Gospel of Christ has to be restored in a remnant which is growing in numbers, in order to Make America Great Again, that is, to restore some part of our culture of the Christian individual in his and her creativity and spiritual identity in Christ.

Equating Christianity with "capitalism" and "American culture" is absurd - given the numerous Biblical verses enphasizing sharing and how difficult it will be for the wealthy to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, does that make God a Marxist!!

Matthew 5: 13, "Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt
have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good
for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men."

Matthew 5: 13 is describing the spiritual condition of the church after the
falling away of II Thessalonians 2: 3-7. "Savour" might be understood as
only referring to how salt gives food a better taste. But the Greek word
behind savour is Strong's Exhaustive Concordance number 3471, moraino, from
3474, moros, "dull or stupid, as if to shut up, heedless, blockhead..."
Moraino is a cognitive condition. But in Matthew 5: 13 moranthe refers to
a spiritual condition. Under the many false prophets operating for
decades, the churches have lost their intelligence, which means their
spiritual discernment.

When the spiritual discernment of the Christian church is diminished in the Falling away of II Thessalonians 2: 3-4, then the Christian church has little or no influence upon culture. James 4: 4 and I John 2: 15 say not to love the world, but what scripture says the Christians must not have an influence upon the world? And if Christians have an influence upon the world, the culture, that does not necessarily mean that Christianity and the worldly culture are one and the same. And, in fact, when Christians are spiritually strong, they do have an influence upon culture and when they are strong spiritually that culture has far less influence upon them.

Marxism is not basically about the government giving free food, clothing, housing etc to people. That is just a lure and a means for getting people under the control of a central government. The sharing in the Bible is not about the government giving people things, but about individuals and families sharing with those in need.

"In the eyes of the dialectical philosophy, nothing is established for
all time, nothing is absolute or sacred." (Karl Marx)

"Once the earthly family is discovered to be the secret of the
heavenly family, the former must be destroyed (annihilated), in theory
and in practice." Karl Marx, Feuerbach Thesis #4

"And on the basis of this individual growth of each in our conditions a new
type of mighty socialist collective will in the long run be formed, where
“I” and “we” will merge into one inseparable whole. Such a collective can
only develop on the basis of profound ideological solidarity and an equally
profound emotional rapprochement, mutual understanding."
Nadezhda K. Krupskaya a, Letter to A. M. Gorky

Political Correctness was influenced by Theodore W. Adorno's 1950 book, The Authoritarian Personality and the Frankfurt School's ideology that Christianity and the American patriarchal family cause fascism and both must be weakened and finally done away with. The Frankfurt School taught that Christianity and the family cause racism and antisemitism. After the sixties Marxism in the U.S. followed the Frankfurt School and created political correctness which is a propaganda system making people feel guilty for being racists, sexists etc. Its a system of control.

Great post! All true Christians have discernment, also, though this varies according to Christian maturity. But the Spirit becomes our eyes and ears in many situations. Strongly spiritual does see the world for what it is, all the tricks. Would that most people could see what they're surrounded by, what they've signed-up for, as things would be much different. Of course, the Bible teaches this is wishful thinking, that this will not be the case with the world at large.

What dooms most human efforts to ultimate failure is spiritual blindness, which is the majority world situation, hence the devil even operates in plain sight, the old angel of light routine a specialty, Proverbs 14:12. There really is no Christian solution to the world situation, as the world will never be Christian, until Christ rules. We do what we can, in whatever sphere of influence God has deemed us to be in, public or private, but I believe it's quite senseless to be absorbed with some notion we're going to overturn Satan's domain and the powers-that-be which serve him.

Jesus Christ didn't spend five minutes on politics, something good to bear in mind:

John 18:36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

James 2:5 Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?

You could struggle your entire life to make some model society, white picket fences all, Andy of Mayberry on the TV, whatever, and nobody would be less on their way to damnation and hell. It is only things eternal that ultimately matter, in the first place, the salvation of the individual, the kingdom of Jesus Christ which is of the Spirit, and not man's politics or philosophies that can save, 1 Corinthians 3:4. It's sad to even see people pulling their hair out over carnal issues, trying to get blood from the proverbial turnip, robbed of any peace they could find in God and realizing the truth, that this world is not even our home, that we should not even be defined by the world, which is operated by the devil and his stooges on your TV screen, Matthew 4:8-10. It's sad people believe any of that is going to save anything, at all.
