Astral City: A Spiritual Journey (Nosso Lar). Brazil, 2010. Drama. Director: Wagner de Assis. Starring: Renato Pietro, Fernando Alves Pinto, Rodrigo dos Santos, Clemente Viscaíno. The selfish Dr. André Luiz dies and awakes in a kind of limbo called "Umbral". After a painful and numb period in a gruesome swamp, he is rescued and brought to "Nosso Lar" (meaning "Our Home"), a spiritual city. He finds a place of harmony, where people live in peace, working for the good of humanity, for the self evolution and awaiting for reincarnation. Sooner André Luiz changes his behavior becoming a more self aware and altruist man. Not rated. 103 min.

City of God (Cidade de Deus). Brasil, 2002. Drama. Director: Fernando Meirelles. Starring: Leandro Firmino, Alexandre Rodrigues, Douglas Silva, Jonathan Haagensen, Alice Braga. Two boys growing up in a violent neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro take different paths: one becomes a photographer, the other a drug dealer. This film was nominated for 4 Academy Awards (Oscars): Best Director (Fernando Meirelles), Best Adapted Screenplay (Bráulio Mantovani), Best Cinematography (César Charlone), Best Film Editing (Daniel Rezende). Rated R. 140 minutes.

This is a great film. But please, what it with subtitles. Its better this way.
