Its not the only weapon as the media makes it appear its the deranged killer behind it..

A former care home worker stabbed 19 patients to death and wounded dozens more before handing himself in at a nearby police station, declaring "I want to get rid of the disabled."

Japan was in shock on Tuesday following the knife attack, which took place at a care home for the disabled in Sagamihara, Kanagawa Prefecture, about 25 miles southwest of Tokyo.

The killer was said to have smashed his way into the facility through a glass window and begun stabbing patients, apparently at random.

Then he walked into a police station, still carrying his blood-stained knives, and told officers: "I did it," Japanese media reported.

A former nurse pleaded guilty on Thursday to killing eight patients at Ontario nursing homes in what news reports said was among the worst string of serial killings in Canadian history.

The former nurse, Elizabeth Tracey Mae Wettlaufer, 49, admitted to injecting a total of 14 people with insulin for no medical reason from 2007 to 2014. Eight of those injections proved fatal and six other people were seriously injured.

The eight patients who died ranged in age from 75 to 96. Seven of them lived at a nursing home in Woodstock, a farming and manufacturing city of 37,000, where Ms. Wettlaufer worked until 2014. The eighth patient died about an hour’s drive away, at a home in London, Ontario, that had briefly employed Ms. Wettlaufer.

There is nothing in the second amendment which says the government may not make sensible laws regulating guns for safety . Such laws are in no way an infringement on anyone's right to OWN a gun . No, they wouldn't prevent all gun murders or accidents, but they COULD prevent a significant number of them .
People have to have a license to drive a car. Nobody objects to this . We don't want people who are blind or nearly blind or with other physical disabilities to drive cars . Why should it be any different with guns ?
Let's face it ; guns are dangerous . So are a lot of other things. Yet we have laws regulating them for safety. If we didn't, a heck of a lot more people would be killed or seriously injured .
Gun control is not "gun confiscation ". Requiring people to have driver's licenses doesn't mean the government is coming for your car .
And exactly how many guns were confiscated by the Obama administration from 2009 to January 19, 2017 ? By so-called "gun-grabber " Obama ? Zip. Nada. Zilch . Bupkis . Not a single one .
Americans who own guns and are frightened of the government being out to "grab" their weapons have been hoodwinked by right-wing propaganda . What they really should fear is the Trump administration coming for their social security , medicare and health care in general . And food stamps if they need and receive them, which many do . Everything which is keeping them from starving on the
streets with their families .

And killing is best achieved with weapons, and all the world's armies have chosen exactly what the standard issue weapon should be, for killing, and that's the service rifle, which is an assault rifle with selective fire. Every single on of the world's armies can't be all wrong on that, and that's what the Second Amendment is talking about when it says "the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." If you have a right to kill people who are trying to kill you, then in order for that to mean anything, in order for it to "have teeth," you must also have the right to own, and to carry, a service rifle, at minimum.

People have licenses for driving because driving is a privilege. Not a basic fundamental human right like owning a firearm. And yes guns are dangerous. They're supposed to be. They are meant to defend your life from someone who wants to do harm to you.

Driving a car is not a "privilege ". Owning guns should be considered a privilege .
If people want to use guns for hunting etc, fine . But they should know how to use them safely and how to store them safely .
Too many Americans do not know how to do this and do not store them safely . Look at all the toddlers who have been killing each other, their parents and others because their idiot parents were too stupid to know you cannot just keep loaded guns around the house for children to play with .
In recent years , toddlers have killed more people in America than Muslims .This is insanity !

Driving is a right. Yet, it can be taken away, due to criminal activity.
