The Green New Deal.

...The sun makes the tree grow.
Your mind-reading is unpersuasive.

I know thinking is harder than insults but give it a try, it really isn't that painful to think ;)

Wood is renewable, energy is not.

So what we can't see and what is very hard to calculate is that, the energy used to grow the tree, the wind and the sunlight and the evaporated water add's up to more energy than the wood contains. Again we don't see and we surely don't care about those numbers. But they are there and you can't renew energy. Physical laws preclude renewing energy.

The tree is being naturally watered ( a lot of energy), naturally sunned ( more energy) and the breeze that supplies it with CO2 (even more energy). If you add all the energy use to grow the tree, the energy that the wood has falls far short of the total captured from the sun. You can't get around that you can't renew energy.

1st law of thermodynamics. Captain planet is not mentioned in any of the physical laws that I know of.

You forgot to mention the side effects of having tree farms for building, firewood, etc...

the trees are absorbing CO2 and producing O2. :thumb:

he's conflating "energy" and "energy producing things"

hard not to see it as deliberate

iow, he's trolling

‘I WAS LAUGHING SO HARD I NEARLY CRIED’: WSJ’S KIMBERLEY STRASSEL CAN’T GET OVER GREEN NEW DEAL
https://dailycaller.com/2019/02/07/wsj-kimberley-strassel-green-new-deal/

The Wall Street Journal’s Kimberley Strassel was not impressed by the rollout of the proposed Green New Deal — in fact, she argued Thursday that “if a bunch of GOPers plotted to forge a fake Democratic bill showing how bonkers the party is, they could not have done a better job.”

As Democrats rolled out the resolution, notably backed by freshman Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the commentary and criticisms rolled out as well. Strassel was firmly and decidedly in the camp of the latter

TWEET: 1) By the end of the Green New Deal resolution (and accompanying fact sheet) I was laughing so hard I nearly cried. If a bunch of GOPers plotted to forge a fake Democratic bill showing how bonkers the party is, they could not have done a better job. It is beautiful. #GreenNewDeal

Strassel followed her initial tweet with a series of key points to illustrate her initial assessment. The facilities and turbines required to deliver “renewable electricity” on the scale described in the GND, for example, would take up more space than the entire state of California

TWEET: 2) See Ron Bailey for look at sheer number of turbines, solar panels, facilities necessary just for the "renewable electricity" bit. Wud need 500k square km, bigger than California. Also note, govt will pay for these--not private sector. https://reason.com/blog/2019/02/07/green-new-deal-democratic-socialism-by-o

Logistics would also likely pose a problem, Strassel noted.

TWEET: 3) Also, AOC would put charging stations "everywhere," upgrade or tear down "every building" in the country (homes and businesses), install high-speed rail across every state, upgrade all our infrastructure. (Maybe once Ds allow permitting reform? LOL. LOL. LOL.)

One of the only true renewable energy sources:

Wood is an amazing product, life could not exist on earth with out it, and it is renewable but energy is not.

Plant a seed in a arid cave , you supply the water, you supply the light, you supply the CO2, a fan to make sure the CO2 gets to the leafs, ventilation to make sure the O2 gets out and the seed will grow, but the wood will never supply the energy that you used to grow the tree.

Plant a seed "outside" where it is naturally watered and gets natural sunlight and natural wind blows and you will get a great benefit from that tree..

Wood is renewable, energy is not.

Except the document never once says "charging stations" and says nothing about tearing anything down. High Speed rail is mentioned only once in that they would seek investment in it.

You don't think we need to invest in our infrastructure? You think high-speed rail is a bad idea?

The Green New Deal isn't going to happen. So, why lie about what it actually says?

A seed that is planted where it is naturally watered is far in a way superior to any man made scheme to capture kinetic energy! And it can make you rich if you plant enough of seeds and wait for them to grow. But as a source of energy are they renewable? No. Again energy is not renewable but wood is!
That is what I said.
Wood is renewable and is an energy source.

...Conservatives need to get one thing straight....

***One one hand, they spread rumors and claim that Alexcandra Ocasia-Cortez is so destitute she cannot even afford an apartment in Washington, D.C.

***On the other hand, they also spread the rumor that she grew up rich and has lived in the lap of luxury.

She’s a woman. She’s intelligent. She’s a policy wonk and is inspriational. So Trump and his followers are afraid of her.

I await a humiliating tweet about her from the president. It will be a slap in the face to the small-town family values I was raised with, but who cares--Right?
I think you may need to get your facts straight.

1) AOC herself stated that he she couldn't afford an apartment in DC. That is not conservative propaganda. And not being able to live on DC is not the same as being destitute.

2) It is not a rumor that she grew in affluence. Her father was an architect who founded his own architectural firm. Her father bought a home in Westchester, NY so AOC could attend better schools. Her fathered died when AOC was 19 and his death caused her family financial struggles because he didn't leave a will.

3) How is AOC inspirational? I'm a Latino, a child of Mexican immigrants, and I find her an embarrassment to Latinos. She's college educated but spouts socialist nonsense. We Latinos struggle to be take seriously intellectually speaking and AOC makes all of us look foolish, She's arrogant and self absorbed which is shown through her constant Tweets. Her Green New Deal is rather vague and makes no sense.

reminds me of another politician

i was listening to a ben shapiro talk the other day (on youtube) and he mentioned trump, something along the lines of "trump is a hammer looking for something to hit. Sometimes he hits a nail and we all cheer. But sometimes he hits a baby" :chuckle:

The election of Trump just opened the door for even sillier people to get elected. AOC is only the beginning. There will be many more to come.

obama

it started with obama

people realized you didn't need to be qualified or experienced, only popular

It can be traced back to Ronald Reagan in 1980, and Ronnie turned out to be okay as President.

reagan had experience, at least - as governor of california

same as carter, bush2, clinton

bush1, Johnson, truman and nixon were veeps

eisenhower was an anomaly but massively experienced and qualified

kennedy was a less qualified anomaly - no executive experience, lots of legislative experience

I'm no fan of Obama but at least he has some political experience. But now I guess bartending is a criteria?

in 2008, obama had a bit of experience as a state senator and virtually no experience as a US senator

further, he had zero experience as an executive
