There are no personal attacks necessary when stating the simple fact that SSM does not need defended anymore than heterosexual marriages. It's between ... two people. The couple. Just imagine how much more time and energy could be spent on heterosexual marriage in the form of trying to improve their *own* relationships.
If 'Its between two people" then why all the personal attacks by supporters when anyone disagrees with SSM? SSM supporters seem to think personal attacks are necessary. Your suggesting that it is a private affair so no-one else's business. And also adversaries should spend more time improving their own couple situation.
Marriage is a public business with consequences for children and communities and society.

There is no good reason to remain silent when the extreme right uses words like pervert, child molester, abomination, etc. SSM supporters simply hit back by calling a spade a space. That's a good thing.
And yes, marriage is a private matter, until such a time that this standard is used towards anyone who has been previously married OR has not remained celibate prior to marriage. Of course, that would mean that right-leaning heterosexuals would be held to a higher moral standard that they have never bothered to adhere to.

Not everyone who opposes SSM is a bigot , but an awful lot of them ARE vicious homophobic bigots . They're not only opposed to SSM, but want it to be legal for gay people to be discriminated against, fired from their jobs merely for being gay , not allowed to teach in public schools, adopt children , serve in the military and join the Boy Scouts etc .
All this despite the fact that gay people have been parents for a very long time, and can be just as good parents as heterosexuals, have taught in public schools from the beginning and have often been outstanding teachers, and have served in every army in world history and fought in every war in world history, often with great valor .
Being opposed to SSM makes no more sense than being opposed to blacks and whites getting married , serving in the military or allowing blacks and women to vote . It doesn't interfere with the rights of others or interfere with other people's opposite sex marriages etc in any way .

What "Angel4Truth" conveniently fails to mention is that Leviticus 20:9, a mere 4 verses before the one she has chosen to bring to our attention, states another of "God’s righteous decrees" - those children who curse their parents will be put to death!
Christians, including those who vehemently oppose same sex marriage, have long chosen to ignore this particular verse - which only reinforces the hypocrisy of a position based on "cherry picking" only those particular passages that support one's personal agenda.
