Second Half of 2 Corinthians 2

This is the show from Thursday January 20th, 2011.

SUMMARY:

* A Hockey Game Broke Out Again: Okay, so you never saw a hockey game break out at a fight. But right now, if you'll join us, you'll have tuned into a radio talk show only to hear a Bible Study break out!

* Fiday at the Capitol, the Colorado March for Life! Please join Bob and the BEL crew, Doug McBurney, Ken & Jo Scott, Leslie Hanks, Gregg Jackson, Lolita Hanks, and a cast of thousands... well, at least hundreds :) on Friday at noon on the Capitol Steps for CRTL's 2011 March for Life!

* Finally, a Comprehensive Listing: You're Invited to check out ARTL's March for Life Finder!

Today’s Resource: Paul's Epistle to the Colossians brings Christians to consider Christ's role in the Godhead and the very nature of the Trinity. Find out why Paul refers to the eternal Son of God as "the firstborn over all creation." (But if you just can't wait, you can glean the answer from this very brief "Made in God's Image" study.) Learn about God's delegation of authority as indicated by His creation of thrones and dominions, powers, principalities, and authorities. When Paul wrote that the Father nailed the law to the cross with Jesus, was he referring to the law of the land, or God's own Mosaic Law? Hear Paul describe the rules and regulations invented by churches as "self-imposed religion" having "no value against the indulgence of the flesh."

Every story has a plot, and a story’s details can be confusing unless you understand its overview. Grasping the big picture will help you reconcile many seemingly contradictory, and controversial Bible passages. Achieve a fuller understanding of God’s plan from Genesis to Revelation and equip yourself to share God’s Word with friends and family. Consider listening to The Plot series based on the book that represents Bob’s life's work of the same title. Then enjoy Bob’s other book studies and see how the big picture can help you to better know the living God!

Hi Bob,

You make mention throughout both shows to “the gospel”, but never define what it is. When it’s unclear to the listener just what this “the gospel” is, it is unclear as to the power of God unto salvation. So please, what is “the gospel” that you preach?

You said things like, “He is giving opportunity for people to repent of their sins, even of killing their own children, and turning to Him” and “repent or you’re going to hell” yet earlier you said salvation is by grace through faith. You can’t have it both ways. Just what is it that they need to “repent” of? Does one need to clean up their act as if to somehow make themselves acceptable to God before they can be saved? Just how is one saved today? Please, lay it out.

And although you may think this is no big deal, it is. You said that “Israel was cut off and the Gentiles were grafted in”, but those Gentiles who had a position in the olive tree were not even in the Body of Christ. They had a faith, but not the mutual faith of both Paul and them. They were not established into the Body of Christ. Those men were in danger of being “cut off”. How can a member of the Body of Christ have the possibility of being “cut off” and be sealed by the Holy Spirit unto the day of redemption at the same time?

Bob,

Are you ever going to address this?

Bob usually doesn't have time to participate on this forum. He only averages about 1 post every 4 days. The best way to get your question answered from him is to call in to his show. M-F 5:00 to 5:30 (Eastern time). 1-800-8ENYART.

Respectfully, Jefferson, Bob has responded to many posts by others in other threads here in the BEL forum and has completely ignored this one. It is my hope that he takes the time to answer here.

Bob,

It's been over a year. Don't you think it's time you address this most important topic, the gospel, and that of the grafting in?
