From appearance and behavior alone it's obvious that rats and mice are pretty similar to one another. It's not a large logical extension to assume that the "design" should be similar as well.

By throwing up your hands, you're essentially saying "the creator just made it that way". In which case there's no point in discussing evidence at all since you're unwilling to draw conclusions from evidence.
