PRO-LIFE VICTORY: Pepsi Boycott Ends!

This is the show from Monday, May 21st 2012.

SUMMARY:

*
VICTORY! PepsiCo Ended Embryonic Stem Cell Research: PepsiCo recently publicized this policy: "PepsiCo does not conduct or fund research that utilizes any human tissue or cell lines derived from embryos or fetuses."

* VP of Public Policy: PepsiCo's vice president of Global Public Policy, Paul Boykas, wrote to Debi Vinnedge, boycott leader, that, “Senomyx will not use HEK cells or any other tissues or cell lines derived from human embryos or fetuses for research performed on behalf of PepsiCo.”

* Debi Vinnedge: "We are absolutely thrilled with PepsiCo’s decision," stated Debi Vinnedge, boycott organizer with Children of God for Life. "They have listened to their customers and have made both a wise and profound statement of corporate integrity that deserves the utmost respect, admiration and support of the public."

* American Right To Life: ARTL agrees with Debi Vinnedge and their Vice President Jefferson George said, "American Right To Life appreciates PepsiCo for their policy prohibiting the use of tissue from unborn children." George added, "PepsiCo's policy will become a model for responsible corporations. And on a personal note, I'm glad I can begin buying Tropicana Orange Juice, that was always my favorite!"

* Coca Cola and Campbell's Soups Do Right: Thanks to Debi's work, Coca Cola and Campbell's Soups also ended their research projects with Senomyx, the biotech company conducting the flavor-enhancing research with aborted baby cells. These companies, however, immediately ended any fetal tissue-related research upon hearing the moral concerns from Vinnedge.

* Bob Tries To Identify and Prevent Christian Superstition: What do tea leaves, full parking lots, chicken entrails, computer bugs, and stalled engines have in common?

Too late.
I quit drinking Pepsi after this came out and I won’t be going back..........unless of course they repent.

I quite drinking pop/soda partially because of this, as Pepsi was my primary soft drink. I did drink some generic grape, orange, etc. sodas for a while, but I needed to give it up altogether anyhow, so I did. I won't be going back for that reason. And while I bought some Cheetos recently I got sick of them very quickly, so those are out too. And I haven't had Doritos since before the boycott.

So while PepsiCo clearly wanted the boycott to end it seems they will learn the lesson that bad decisions have lasting consequences. I think a lot of people who participated are going to find out that they've lost the taste for PepsiCo products.

Yep! And besides, their O-logo triggers my gag reflex.
